  1. Tara Reid lol Shes just a mess all the time. At least shes got good taste in watches
  2. workin fine today! Loaded super fast! woo hoo! lol
  3. Question for the Admins, Whenever i navigate to the main forum page it take FOREVER to load... like 30 seconds sometimes.. once i get into a subforum like the Rolex area then its quick to read threads and reply etc.. but then i go back to the main page and its taking forever... also when i click on a subforum like rolex for example, it takes a long time to get there.. but once im there its fast. It just seems like the main page it killing my PC. Any ideas whata going on? This is the ONLY website that i have problems with and its been happening all week I am using windows Vista with IE 8 dizz
  4. Yes you are correct.. sorry that didnt come out right lol its not really a button you can press in. When i first saw it, i thought it was a helium release valve and i was like WTF is that doing on this watch? haha dizz
  5. absolutely awesome 1680!!! I wonder where your case is from? Are there any serial numbers on it or anything that might help us trace its origins? I know you can get a 1570 into a 1665 MBW but the stem wont line up on the MBW 1680 case... hhmm.. looks like you found a good one! Congrats wear it well
  6. Im still waiting for someone to toss a Zenith movement into a noob daytona case... i wonder how much work that would be? You would have a pretty darn nice franken except for the thickness... Unless you can find one of the older thinner cases..
  7. that looks good I usually scuff and bang it up, polish it, scuff it up and polish it.. do that 2 or 3 times and you get years worth of patina. I like when the steel is somewhat shiney yet scratched underneath if you know what i mean. dizz
  8. Yes the date model is smaller.. this is probably the same case as the air-king date model? I had one of those and it was also 19mm bracelet. Very nice watch. You could polish this up and make it look awesome. Good find for $1500.
  9. its amazing what you guys can make in your metal shops.. i wouldnt have even thought of doing this.. i would have just got a new case or new dial hahaha. I think the JB weld should hold up fine as there isnt going to be any tension on the two parts. I would definatly add a bit of an angle to the rehaut next time you pull it apart just so the rehaut doesnt look so thick. You could also apply this idea in reverse to a submariner case with a "woky" rehaut to straighten it out. Mount the case to your lathe and take off some of the angled material.. As long as you dont exceed the dial dia. I've seen a lot of nice looking sub cases that are ruined by a woky rehaut. Excellent work!! Dizz
  10. yes its sad.. i had a two tone chronomat evo and the gold was worn off one side of the crown. i was shocked to say the least and thought it was an aftermarket crown but it wasnt...
  11. the rehaut depth is deeper on the rep, and the bezel assembly and outer dial ring move independantly by pressing the button on the side of the case to lock the gears so the bezel will turn the outer dial ring. Its a pretty cool setup but unfortunatly none of the gen parts will fit on the rep. I have a 6.75 and its modded with double AR from chieftang.. i think thats about as much as you can mod it with the exception of a gen bracelet. check out the crystal... well you cant see the crystal but i guess thats the point

    Au...

very nice! I have never seen an underline 1803! Are you going to keep it on the leather or source a bracelet? I had a nice black dial 1603 and i wish i had never sold it. Congrats on your new beauty!!
  13. I still can't believe that after all this time, there is still no reliable sec@6 Daytona avail yet. Mine lasted two weeks and it died. I would love to have a nice 16520 but I won't buy one with the current movement setup. Dizz
  14. Yeah this is absolutely amazing. I am really impressed. I would love to have something like this in my collection one day. I'm going to go back right now and review the original thread...
  15. I wouldn't get diamonds. It's tough enough for the avg person to pulll off wearing a plain rolex, let alone one with diamonds. It will just scream fake if u ask me. Eveyone will for sure assume it's fake. I would go with a plain dAtejust as mentioned above.
  16. mine done fit at all.. the width is ok but they need some serious trimming around the bezel area. Thats a project for another day. dizz
  17. Awesome 1680!!! You got some good prices there. Movement especially. Even if you end up spending $3000 then you are still half of the gen price and the only thing you would even need is a gen case if u ever came across one.
  18. I ordered these crowns from the same guy. I had two tudors in my batch of five. I sent him An email explaining his errorand he quickly sent me two more rolex crowns. Also mention the ones with the worn spring tubes and he may replace those also. He sold ne mine guaranteed to be useable and genuine rolex. He sure seems to have a lot of these crowns. He prob hangs out behind the rolex service centers and raids Their garbage bin out back for used parts. If I lived near a RSC I would do the same lol. Edited for spelling mistAkes. Stupid iPhone. Haha
  19. Ive got a DW 6265 case and it's very very nice. I would recommend it for sure. It has the paul Newman tropical dial and the v23 based mystery movement and it's been serviced. Runs great and has for about a year now. All I need now are the proper end links so I can get my bracelet to fit properly. It's a beautiful watch and if it Was bigger at 40mm then I might actually wear it right now it's just an addition to my vintage collection and is rarely worn.
  20. It's been widely discussed that the waterproofing is a scam. I'd be careful wearing any rep in the water. Do a search and u can read all about the water proofing extra charge discussions.
  21. Excellent review this is by far the best sub rep available. Infact I emailed BK yesterday about getting one myself. It's time to upgrade from my Franken MBW. I also just bought a preowned gen 16610 so it will make for a good comparison review. I can't wait to see the WM9 in person. I'm more excited about the WM9 than I am about the gen! Ha ha Dizz
  22. I wouldnt bother getting a gen if you have a good franken... especially with the super avenger. There isnt much difference really.. even the movement is almost the same.. Ive had gen super avengers and rep super avengers and now i just have my one rep black dial SA that is my daily wear watch along with my gen Rolex 16610. I wouldnt get another gen SA. Not worth the extra $ IMHO. The gen SA is just an ETA powered watch.. get a rep, toss in a gen dial, gen bracelet and get it serviced and you are good to go. ANd you've just saved thousands of $
  23. I wouldnt mind a nice super rep of a Bentley 6.75 with double AR etc etc...
  24. yes it will fit but i wouldnt bother.. the gen Bentley bracelet isnt cheap and the rep one is pretty good. Unless you are building a franken with gen dial and double AR etc etc i wouldnt really bother. what other mods have you done? I have a rep 6.75 with cheif double AR and it feels pretty darn close to the gen 6.75 I used to have. dizz
