  1. Museum piece quality I´d say ...but luckily I think this one will be getting quite some wrist time. Once you go this road I guess there´s no cutting corners...amazing build !!!
  2. Thanks guys, guess keeping it like it is fir now and enjoy wearing it [emoji6] Verzonden vanaf mijn iPad met Tapatalk
  3. I like the bracelets also very much, but what is holding me is adjusting a riveted bracelet... Question, what mods would you suggest? I have gen 703 crown and gen 7030 tube...would these fit ??? Plexi T-21 ???
  4. Converted A7750 just like the 6263 Albino offered here the other day. I´ll post a movement pic later on to have the experts confirm
  5. So finally after searching, searching and more searching I stumbled across this beauty, The Rolex Daytona 6239 (by DW) and bought it...in a heartbeat. I bought just the head as I thought the GEN rivet I will find one day for sure. But I wanted it to mount this icon on a Bulang & Sons 19/16 vintage leather strap. And I think the end result is really nice and it is also very comfortable to wear. The seller I bought it from also informed about a website detailing more about this particular build `Daytona small dial` http://www.hqmilton.com/watches/rolex_daytona_6239_black_dial_with_early_small_daytona_with_white_and_silve/ I especially like the fact that it is not screaming Daytona or PN or anything like `hey look at me`...but that is what I feel is so attractive about this particular dial. The subtle `Rolex Cosmograph Daytona` just between center of the watch and the coronet. What I also like about this build is that the hand wind movement allows for a very flat build (guess as per gen looking at the dimensions). The watch has wear on it just like you would expect but not too much. And the engraving finishes it off just right. Not fully noticeable even when wearing a leather strap. So now on to the pics It all started with the watch head ....and even without a strap it is beautiful But I knew I had to get a nice Bulang & Sons leathers strap for this beauty...
  6. @mymanmatt this sounds like your email system has been compromised

  11. Hi mate, as for the caseback I can recommend the Helenarou Caseback as it has a very flat profile (check thread of my 5513 build here https://rwg.cc/topic/179435-rolex-5513-spider-franken-build-complete

  13. The reason why I fell in love with Omega at an early age, this was in my fathers drawer when I was only 8 years old...as my grandfather passed away he gave me this watch which my father kept safe untill I was 18 years old...Now I got it restored. They fitted the wrong crown though so I´m getting the right one now and will replace that later on (needs to be a decagonal gold capped crown) Got a nice thin black alligator strap mounted on it which makes it the perfect dress watch for me. Just love that pie pan design and the watch is so easy to `read´ because of the simple design. You can clearly see the Omega logo in the center of the Plexi Not the right crown for a 1967 constellation, although good serviced I specifically asked for a decagonal replacement crown but they did not find one. I just found one will have it replaced asap. This was the time when loyal employees would still get a `golden watch` for retirement. Even after almost 50 years !!! there´s still some tritium left in the hands, hardly noticeable in the pictures but I can see it. I remember well as a little kid I used to fetch the watch from my fathers drawer...hold it in the light and look at at night in my bed. Mesmerized by that green light that slowly faded away...pure magic
  14. Just had my 1967 Omega Constellation (inherited from my late grandfather) fully serviced by a very well respected Dutch (independent) Omega Watchmaker....total cost was $300 which included a new crown and plexi!!! When I look at the recommended price list of Omega this should cost $675 just for service and spare parts would be calculated at whatever price they see fit. So at least another $100 this would mean a grand total of $775 .... Check here for entire pricelist... http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=threadt&frm_id=25
  15. Hi mate, a 1680 has a the Rolex `Auto Lock` bezel system which is not anything like the newer type of bezels you will find on the later Subs like the 16610. So you have the correct bezel, only thing is that the rep will most likely move freely without even putting pressure on it. The GEN and better aftermarket ones will stay in their position but even then these are known to move about. Not so nice when you´re diving and you want to know how much time there´s left before you need to surface :-) So that´s why the uni directional system (we now see in all bezels) was developed. So congrats on your vintage 1680 and if you want to fix it I suggest you contact @ingelero as he has just the bezel assembly you need
  16. Welcome! That´s quite a collection you got there ...what´s next on your list?
  17. Great Pics, my favorite Car Brand of all times ...just loved this episode of Top Gear on the DB9 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfdktvDuIlU

  21. Hi mate, and welcome!!! Love all three of your Rolex and not sure about the 5513 insert being replaced as the pearl shows nice patina. Maybe a lume shot would work to check pearl and hands. If they both have same hue than most likely replaced together when at service at RSC. As for the rep bracelet I would suggest you go out and find a nice GEN bracelet for this baby. These can be had for around $500 if you hunt for it or place a WTB on vintagerolexforum ....Cheers Sub007
