  1. Stunning dial Nanuq. I need to get a great 2-line dial for my 5513 project. The Yuki I have now isn't horrid, but still...
  2. Phong is sooooo $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ but yeah, the best...
  3. First mistake is buying a watch with a battery in it ;-) I ordered my Seamaster 300 from Andrew and the shipping wasn't super fast, but I got what I ordered and he was good about communication. That said, I now have a "amaster 300" as the "Se" on the rear of the watch has rubbed off. Still laser engraved, so I'll just redo it with some black enamel paint.
  4. DBane - that sounds like a really good idea and depending on the mixture it might not clog. Sounds like we need a chemist
  5. Neat article on the gen - copy and paste into new window to not refer http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/omega-develops-a-new-watchmaking-certification-standard-with-the-swiss-federal-institute-for-metrology
  6. His AP's, if you read his tag-links, are almost if not all super-frankens and waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy above and beyond what any TD sells. Seriously, nicest next to genuine (in my opinion) that you'll see..
  7. I ordered mine from Andrew @ Trusty-Time. Today I noticed the "Se" in "Seamaster 300" on the back had wiped away, the Se is still there, engraved in, but the black is gone. So now I have an Omega "amaster 300" which is surely a very rare watch indeed lol.

  9. Days is incorrect size, and power reserve doesn't work - also the movement is a *immediate* tell... the solid case-back is okay, and the only saving grace here. The movement is a pretty bad copy, they shouldn't have bothered with the detail there at all, it doesn't look anything like the 50000 caliber.
  10. Same thing for the Wolf... anything over a few hundred is too much for me, starting to get into Orbita range
  11. I had a single Steinhausen and it was very good but their multi's are too rich for my blood
  12. Very nice! Congratulations Tell us more about it!
  13. Hello all Looking to see if anyone has input on a good quality 4-6 bay watch winder that won't crap-out after a year or two. It would be a benefit if it had a drawer underneath to store watches currently out of rotation. This is the winder that I currently use: http://www.brookstone.com/watch-winders-quad?bkiid=World_Landing_Page_Watches___Accessories_Watch_Winders|CategoryWidget|618009p&catId= Any insights would be great, I don't want to go the Orbita spend a billion dollars route... Thanks
  14. s t u n n i n g Congratulations!!! I wish the Dubois-Depraz module's were more readily available. Seriously amazing, can I ask what $ you have into it?
  15. Yeah it's too small for my wrist really but I can't help but wear such a timeless classic
  16. I'm definitely stuck on the fence with regard to #4. I'm working on my 5513 build with some invaluable and great trusted members. I'm looking forward to putting it all together with my local watchmaker who's been our guy for 20+ years. He says "can't go wrong with Rolex" and I'm inclined to agree as I haven't put a nickel into a cal.1570 Datejust 1601 in ten years, aside from one cleaning at $75.00. It keeps great time. Not perfect, but for a watch that's about 50 years old, it keeps great time. Now concerning this build, I have the opportunity to put a cal.1520 movement in it, and I feel that just makes the watch all the more "real" than a replica with ETA in it. I don't ever plan to sell it, I'd like to continue to find that perfect genuine face and hands. The bracelet and crystal are genuine, crown/tube, bezel mechanism and insert are genuine, and the case is a beautifully shaped and modded up mid-case and case-back pantograph engraved. Putting in a cal.1520 and then eventually finding the perfect face and hands will make it "real" to me, and I suppose that's what a lot of this is, emotion, eh?
  17. Good eye! I missed that, definitely doesn't line up.
  18. Really tremendous collection! congratulations. I'm just starting out my experience here, and halfway through collecting the mostly gen parts for a Franken 5513 build from the amazing and super helpful members here! Maybe someday I'll have a collection like that.
  19. A knife mate... Haha, kidding. I used tailors shears to trim my italian rubber dive band down.
