  1. You are welcome mate, enjoy your time here and maybe say hello to everyone in the new members introduction section.

  2. Since this thread has resurrected I will mention that Amazon still hasn't delivered my calipers
  3. One of the rare moments when the crystal is actually near the watch rather than on the floor under the table
  4. The OP wants to stick sub one thousand Dollars, a Yuki alone would blow that once it is cleaned and serviced.
  5. I've got that one and it came from Toro. One could be sniffy about dial accuracy but it has a nice overall feel and look to it. It's a lot of watch for the money.
  6. It's a great idea, we should have more get togethers. Short notice for me Rob, but if you guys make it an annual event I'll be sure to show up at one.
  7. Very best wishes and congratulations on your natal anniversary.
  8. Another super post and my favourite modern Rolex. Thank you
  9. Thank you for your comprehensive answer. The last paragraph is particularly true for many of us here I think
  10. Given that a Phong case is 1450 plus 1200 for a dial and then all the other bits. Would you say that at the moment it might be better to stretch to a gen and watch it's value rise?
  11. Thank you, these how to tutorials are really great. I would agree that it is only a matter of time before the Matt dial 16800 start to rise in value.
  12. The link is kind of a long reply. I am guessing English is not your first language? а ты говоришь по русски?

    Speedmaster

^^^fair point^^^ It wasn't my intention to scare, just inform.
  14. Buy a gen. fake Seikos are for fake moderators.

    Speedmaster

Speedmasters are notoriously inaccurate because the rep movements don't have the same sub dial spacing. There is a speedmaster with a version of the 7750 movement and reps of that might be better. Otherwise to start an omega collection, the planet oceans are fantastic.
  16. Good luck brother. I will be interested to see how the case thinning works out. I agree on the crown, either leave it be or get into welding.
  17. Totally agree that a much later service dial is not an intrinsic part of the watch. For me that is a totally different story to the genuine 70s watch with a white dial. At the moment the watch for me is still essentially the same as before, a genuine watch without its original dial. Only thing is that the MQ dial obviously looks nicer and more in line with what should be there. Knowing your ability to find parts, I think you will turn up a genuine dial. Good luck.
  18. I've had a couple of TPIUWOP myself. I've always thought it was very much a tongue in cheek thing. @lataule welcome to the forum. I would love to see pictures when you get a chance. @mymanmatt, would you consider a build thread of one of your daydates. I love your work.
