  1. While we all understand the law, I would be saddened to see him run into legal problems for watch related reasons. If he did a Corvus or something that would be different. In the meantime I'm hoping this all just blows over as a none event for him and for us.
  2. Don't just leave that hanging there. Copyright, fraud or none watch related? I don't know the guy, but in the years I have been in this hobby I've read so much from him and about him that I kind of feel like I know him.
  3. Just contact your preferred TD. I,was looking at one recently. I'm not sure but it might have been Josh's site. Doesn't really matter, if one can get them all the others can too.
  4. The colour mismatch between dial and bezel really looks department store sports watch. I've got a Soki that looks better than that
  5. Don't forget a three colour James Bond pull through. Can't be a British watch guy without one of those in the box :-)
  6. Phoenix straps made the original RAF pull through straps and the MOD NATO's, they are still in business and still make the straps. They are a little thinner than some of the more modern style, but not as thin as Chinese eBay straps. I'm just giving you this for information really. I have dozens of NATO straps in all thicknesses. It's fun to change them around. If your heart is set on the genuine PROHunter strap, get one. On the other hand for the same price you could have say black, grey, striped, a bright colour in webbing and a nice leather NATO as well.
  7. Hi mate. Welcome to the forum. There is plenty to learn here, two years in and I haven't finished class 101 yet. Some really decent guys and plenty of Brits, myself and Ssteel included, though we are both expat. There is an old rule of life that if something looks too good to be true, it probably is. Many scam sites use pictures of genuine watches. You might or might not get some POS for your money, but you won't get what they show. Like most watch enthusiasts you probably have favourite companies and designs. Use the search function to find and read all posts on any replica you are considering. Stick rigidly to TD's, they can get any watch available. If they can't get it neither can a none TD site because it does not exist. Lots claim to be Swiss built. Take a moment to think about how the Swiss operate and ask yourself if the Swiss authorities would allow illegal counterfeits of Swiss watches to be made in Switzerland. Never going to happen and a sure sign of a scam.
  8. Sadly I am forced to concede all your points. I guess the start is working out the total value of sales per month or year and working a premium from there. I have some idea how to calculate risk. Probably there is a member who does it for a living.
  9. I for one would love to see a thread on that even if it's not a replica watch it would still be facinating to see
  10. Three of us have posted replies now. I don't see how our views could be more clear. I am prepared to give you the benefit of the doubt, but not the site you linked. They claim to manufacture an illegal copy right under the noses of the Swiss authorities and they also claim to you a grade of metal created, smelted by Rolex and only available to them.
  11. No post for eighteen months, then this, just a link and no preamble. RWG sees all and hears all, yet we didn't know about this. Oh and it's a clone of a Rolex movement made in Switzerland. Like that would ever happen. It screams Scam. For anyone new looking at this, don't walk away, RUN!
  12. The first picture pixelated quickly as I zoomed the image and I'm not very knowledgable, but the first thing I always look at is the centre pinion. Most reps have an open pinion and Rolex is capped. This seems to be capped. That's about all I can say. Others know much more.
  13. I hope it's not six years to your next post. Please join in, you can't possibly spout more BS than me.
  14. Thank you for posting that, it's good solid information. I am firmly of the opinion that if our current manufacturers can produce cases, then were as a group, if we have enough determination, could produce excellent cases. We have the skills, knowledge and connections. We need to work together and establish who is best at what. Alternatively, as others have suggested if we can work with the current manufacturers to improve models. The current designs are so much improved on those of a few years ago, perhaps a little more and we will all be happy.
  15. Welcome to the forum. Of course well will be delighted to see your projects once you receive them.
  16. Welcome to the forum and thank you for such a long and interesting first post.
  17. Different, interesting, cool and very, very nice. I hope you get years and years of pleasure form that one mate.
  18. Plus 1 It's Phong's son and members have bought from him. Seems a similar experience to Phong, some say better, some worse. Seems to be the same product.
  19. Welcome to the forum. I can't give you much model specific help because I don't know much about Heuer reps. However number one rule is stick to trusted dealers and type exactly the address shown in the dealer list. There are a huge number of scam sites that will take your money and either send nothing or some low quality junk. Sadly they have no scruples about using web addresses as similar as they can manage to those of trusted dealers. Other than that, read through this sub section if Heuer is your interest, learn to use the search function and hopefully someone will be along to give you model specific advice soon.
  20. Since Freddy keeps digging things out of the vaults, I thought I would dig this out. I've had it around 30 years and to the best of my knowledge it is a rep with no known original.
  21. I feel joy and sorrow every time I see that watch. As soon as I'm retired I'm going to do everything I can to get me one of those mate.
