  1. Can I offend anyone?
  2. Oh my!
  3. Just turn past twelve until you get the date change... if it doesn't change after you've rolled passed 12 twice, you've already stripped the date wheel.
  4. No. The tracksuit and trainers wearing pikey probably will be selling your wheels back to you next week if you go to pick it up. Just look at his previous history, all excellent, but amazingly random stuff, including job lots of fixtures & doors, and tools likely stolen at the same times as the random job lots from company gang boxes on construction sites.
  5. .... Um, right. Thanks for sticking around to make sure that we all know exactly how much you don't care about what any of us think, not one little bit... No Sir-ee. That Z06 of yours doesn't look new, BTW.
  6. Current pricing for Gen ETA 2836-2 (Swiss) wanders from $190 to $240 on eBay. The cheap Asian copy (China) run from $40 to $80. The SW220, which is a Sellita (Swiss) movement is $200. Sellita used to do finish work for ETA. The high end Asia clone (China) is the Seagull ST2130 which can be had for ~ $120.
  7. Love the MBW Nuqqie.
  8. It is Gen.
  9. Pics are blurred, and numbers are obscured, but top is Gen ETA, bottom is Asian clone.
  10. ETA Valjou Prices Base 7750 'Silver' €460/$555 'Gold' €530/$636 Base 7751 - €800/$960 Base 7753 - €700/$840 Prices are down right now compared to the last few years due to soft Euro.
  11. Hey By-Tor ... Been a while since I've been around myself... A lot longer. Here is gen from 2008, my beater Invicta 2306. I see Nanuq likes your Ebel... Glad he hasn't slowed down enough to get eaten by a wolf or bear yet. Rob
  12. Welcome to the forums AnonymousWatchmaker :)

  13. For someone who has no idea about alot of things, you still have a lot to say...
  14. When someone unscrews a crown accidentally it is usually because they are flexing the stem into the side of the crown tube causing drag and overcoming the friction fit of the threads of the crown. What is screwed on is meant to unscrew. Don't force, don't over do, don't go too damn fast. More examples... When someone strips out the gears of the key-less works it's usually the same type of guy spinning the damn crown as fast as he can trying to wind it or set the time too quickly (not a QC problem). This same type of individual also strips stems out of the works pulling on them too hard (also not a QC problem)... These issues are more akin to holding hitting all the speed bumps and potholes you can find at 85mph and then blaming your car's resultant bad alignment, bent tie rods and busted struts and ball joints on the manufacturer. The fix if an unscrewed crown is simply to screw it back on... with a thin pair of tweezers to hold the stem (if you aren't capable of opening the watch to release the stem, judging from your problem you aren't). They are not meant to be non-removable or as sturdy as a steering wheel.
  15. Actually Invicta is a cool old watch house... they label their stuff correctly... Japan Movt for Miyota and Swiss for their Swiss... but they price it accordingly too... $20 for their sub-brand swiss quartz Activa crap, $100 for the Japan Movt reasonable quality homages of everything under the sun... all the way up to mega bucks for their full bling pavé diamond Swiss movement super Lupah... They are the one's that are honest... and the way they do it points out the dishonesty of the other houses that still proclaim Swiss Made when they are getting 99% of their parts from China accounting for less than 50% of their value to make it legal. Crowns come off... they are made to... they screw right back on as well... Even on a $8.75 Swiss Harley Ronda 509 Big Date Quartz Movement. Has nothing to do with QC. The crown didn't unscrew its self, you did.
  16. Nice base 7734. I'll trade ya for a Poljot 3133 if you want a better finish ...
  17. My first few minutes back in quite some time, and I am instantly jealous!
  18. Actually, ask people what car they own, and I usually hear some string of crap about some Honda/Subaru/Toyo with X" rims, Y turbo, 100hp NOS kit, blah blah wing and ground effects, and z-brand muffler/tail-pipe combos that are supposed to make their sewing machine engine sound like it has some balls... none of which I am likely to hear or very much care about...
  19. Very nice. Can't wait to see the rest...
  20. Dugena 2205 == Otero 74 18000 BPH
  21. A new story for By-Tor... and for me, one last go around with this Movado Luna before it leaves my care...
  22. Improperly seated jewels = endshake issues. Inconsistent shaft diameters and poor workmanship = even more endshake + wobble issues Rough, broken and non-existent jewels = drag issues. Asian 7750 seconds @ 6 means high likely-hood of all three issues... Make sure the jewels are in good repair and properly seated, the shafts appear to fit well and aren't burred or bent, and don't oil anything in the extra 'adaptation' gear train (although thin graphite coating may help).
  23. For an 'oversized' watch for me I would have to find something 74mm lug to lug before I finally run out of "wrist top" to get that look...
  24. But I prefer a big chisel and hammer...
