This thread should be over when mike is done with everyones work. That a very fair thing. Anyone who doesnt have a watch with him after reading this thread that has 280 posts really should think about what they say as they dont have anything going on here.1 point

Let's hope that soon I can add to some positive information and report the arrival of the PAM 029 that I bought on the 27th August and that was reportedly sent on the 4/5th Sept, to date its not arrived so 10 days, but I really hope that next week it does. MD, you have no idea of the shit you have caused to many sincere and considerate members and instead of continuing to be on the offensive that you have absaloutely no right to be, you should google where to buy some Humble pie, eat some, a load in your case and start apologizing for your own screw up. Mike no one was told not to say anything positive a matter of fact quite the contrary is true. Although I cannot ban anyone I have personally PMed people to tone it down on the negative side and not jump all over you. Behind the scene I have been very very active having received many PMs for help by members seeking communication with you I have advised restraint and for the most part was able to get the guys on board but at some point little by little they got tired of waiting for news. I will admit that some positive posters were criticized by others on the thread but that was in the open as there was a difference of opinion, that can't be stopped. (You know that)1 point

Deckard "I am the same. Had only one Panerai. In the initial period of this hobby i was going through different makes looking for the ones i will definitely keep. Since I sold PAM i have never look at another one. For some of You guys might sound like a blasphemy but i have exactly same feelings towards AP and Hublot." I will take the heat with you as a blasphemer no AP's or Hublot in my stable what so ever as stated above have settled on one and wear once in awhile on Pams. It is sterile by the way. It is about the different style from all the other watches I see around, so I have one. Pete funny you mention getting more popular, was working in ICU notice fairly young Doc (low thirties) to my amazement as I catch a look at the wrist as he is discussing a patient with group of students a PAM ! Saw him a week later at cafe different brand on the wrist maybe a Rep guy? No idea which one guys did not get close enough even then I do not know them that well. Really a shame I did not take to them in a big way as as you can see my wrist swallows them not the other way as with most. Bad pic but good for scale. So my thirty or so divers of different sorts will be my collection and the search for the holy grail Rolex or Tudor that plays large enough for me on the wrist continues!1 point

Given to you??!!! Of course you would........ We know you !!! Funnily enough I consider myself a PAM head .... I love them for a lot of reasons.... the History, the shape, the lume, that trademark dial... the strap [censored] I can be with them.... but most of all the anomalies that are created in its history with models and details and the fact no one answer is ever correct.... and if you think you know the answer then you dont really know PAMs... However that being said.... I havent worn one outside for a long time.... not becuse I dont feel the same...but because of the way its changed in the last few years...not just the gens but the reps.... I used to love talking about them...but now on the forums.... its not about collecting or understanding PAMs its about having the best OTB... no one wants to create.. which to me is what PAMs are all about.. People rely on certain individuals to tell them what is the best OTB and then spend thier time posting QC pics and asking for strap suggestions... it is a fashion... Truth is most of those guys who dont actually know what they are talking about.... they compare pics that shouldnt be used for a like to like comaprison.... they claim accuracy that aint there....and that then trickles in to sales forums.. I saw one today for a modded Noob 127 with a WSO crystal......it was described as same as gen, with same AR and distortion..!! Bollox! The WSO crsytal is nothing like a gen crystal NOTHING !!!..... yet because one guy posted a rake of pics and evryone joined the bandwagon suddenly we have a consensus that is wrong.... I am seeing PAMs being sold now that guys rate as 'super reps'...they are just good...frankens that are just fitted with some ETA parts.... and guys thinking because of a comment on a thread its accurate... The key to enjoying any watch beit gen or rep and what made PAMs so interesting and enjoyable was going out and finding out from many sources for yourself.... not just waiting for a small number of guys to post a thread saying what they think and then everyone taking that as gospel....... and anyone that does question those threads or statements in them get flamed by guys that wouldnt know a gen PAM if they were beaten to death with it.... So you are best off out of it... its all about fashion and wanting the best that guys can fool thier mates/work colleagues etc with.... hopefully that crowd will move on soon...but while gen PAMs are fashionable with arses in the real world it follows that PAM reps will do them same1 point

Watches are like Women ! Having a Masters in NLP (like Psychology) I can share something with you all. In my case like our friend here, it is the 'Search, the quest even the anticipation of the new watch will be 'The one'. Not too dissimilar to guys chasing women, they look good (well should do) and have different shapes, sizes, feel and so on, a lot of serious fun is in the chase and unfortunately, when you actually get it, the watch or the woman, you yearn for another to try/wear. Is there any long term side effects I hear you ask, fortunately no so long as you follow some basic rules, this applies to both watches and women!: Do not spend more than you can afford comfortably Try to set a limit on numbers Share your experiences with your fellow members with photos please Select the best you can afford as passing on will always have a good audience Initially keep the protective wrapper on! Best of luck to you all out there, but please do not forget, our hobby is addictive and the side effects and downside are so minimal I would suggest you go crazy and live hard as you never know when that might stop. Have a great weekend AJ1 point

Yikes this is a serious condition, fingers crossed its not permanent . Can I suggest a 312 first off and if that doesn't cure it then possibly a chronograph, maybe a 196. I hope you get better soon1 point

Hey Billy, I'm with you. I wouldn't wear one of those hideous things if it was given to me. Let the flames begin ... you PAM lovers have all your taste in your mouth!1 point

Vaccum does stellar-grade work and lume, but is also insanely booked so expect 2 or 3 months but really quite perfect work. If you want quality work and very simple lume jobs (sandwich dials) with a week turn-around then The Katt is your man.1 point

Welcome Mr_Slippery, great name Some nice reps of your turns-ons available atm, check out the new 15400 Royal Oak, also the new non-chrono Portofinos are great. We won't mention L&S but a superrep JLC Reverso is on the horizon soon and the recent DSSD ain't bad, although not my cup of tea! You'll do well here, enjoy the forums!1 point

Well , based on Mikes last reply I'm fed up with him. I always considered him as a friend and colleague but after this mess I'm done with him and aded him to my ignore list. When Mike first became a member and started posting I was really enthusiastic. Watch technicians are scarce so I tried to motivate him to participate and get involved. We regularly exchanged PM's and in all honesty most of the time he was in quest for parts or wanted technical info on movements. I warned him not to take on too much work but this thread clearly portraits he walked his own path.... I personally don't think Mike has a lot of knowledge about movements.... Or at least his learning curve is still pretty steep. I remember one of his first posts in which he mentioned the tilting pinion on the a7750 being a big problem (Not! Maybe 1 in a 100). Then some weeks ago, when this sh!t storm just started, he shot me a PM because he was having problems installing a brand new gen Rolex 3135 balance. Gave him some tips and off he went. Then some days later the owner, a member here (can't remember his name) emails me with the question if I can fix his gen Rolex 3135 as Mike messed up the balance..... So the moral of this story, in my opinion, is that this guy knows some basic watch making but is far from a good watch technician. When problems or challenges arise he faults. His rant about it being "just reps" proofs this. It is a weak excuse from someone that just can not manage. For all those that are currently waiting for watches/ parts or were returned a non-working watch I have one advice: Leave appropriate feed back!1 point

What about those gen springbars! Makes the watch look indistinguishable from gen. That'll be $1900 please!1 point

I think your 6 dial marker is slightly off center to the left. I doubt there's anything that could be done about it though. I don't see anything I would worry about.1 point

Kind if hard to have return customers when new customers are treated poorly. Its fine to treat returning customers better but you still need to make a new customer want to return. But hey what do I know about business?1 point

I recommended his services to a friend with an expensive Franken and he has the watch but has stopped communicating. My friend is also patient but it makes people extremely uneasy to go dark pm/email wise. Md, stop working and return Pm's please it's in your best interest, we all trust you and it's understandable that you are back logged because of those unforeseen events but returning Pm's is all people want you to do, most of us are patient but it wears thin when communication stops1 point

The difference now is about 1.3mm where the crystal diameter is larger than the bezel inner diameter. I was hoping to be able to trim the bezel a bit to get a good fit as i assume 1.3mm is to dramatic of a difference to fit the bezel over the crystal?1 point
