Don't forget you can use gen date wheels or aftermarket gen style date wheels as an overlay. They are readily available from many eBay stores including WSO, Clark, etc. Here's a champagne colored gen used as an overlay:
  4. Those pictures should make Brieitling afraid, very afraid. Beautiful pictures.
  5. The one complaint I've heard about the V5 with 4813 is the hands sit VERRRY close to the dial, unlike the ETA/clone models. Is this still true?
  6. That only works for telling a certain clone, made by the Nanning Watch Factory. Not all clones. This is most certainly a clone, though.
  7. And, yes, some of the 19mm are much smaller in the links and clasp.
  8. Aren't we all here to help each other out? Why didn't you just order the MG30-295 and get one 1/2mm taller if it's too short.?
  9. Well, the original 288 that I bought has excellent lume, as good as any SL watch I've seen, and also, very good AR.
  10. I've tested most of my dive watches to 5 atm and none have ever failed me in the pool or at the beach.
  11. gen: This dial appears to have the same finish as my early 288k. At least, not a noticeable difference to my eyes. Photo's taken at servicing.
  12. LOL. Most of the high quality counterfeit dollars circulating in the world come from North Korea. He probably pays for his fake watch purchases with fake US dollars.
  13. Is it the new model 288 and not the original A7750? That one supposedly has many flaws.
  14. A great demagnetizer is an electric soldering gun if you happen to own one. You can open the wire up and actually put a watch through although I've only used mine for demag'ing screw drivers.
  15. Most Rolex Subs use the 2836-2 movement because that movement comes standard with a taller canon pin set than the 2824-2 and they just remove the day wheel. It gives more clearance for the hands on the dial markers. No big thing.
  16. It doesn't seem too difficult. I took them off a SD dial and replaced them as well as replacing one on an Omega PO dial. People take off dial markers for re-luming and re-install them all the time. As long as they are the same type of markers with the same foot position. Just push them out from the back of the dial and re-glue from the back.
  17. World's thinnest movement, 2.35mm: The 1208P movement, is a direct descendant of the famous 12P movement, and is the thinnest automatic mechanical movement in the world. To set this record at 2.35 mm required all of Piaget's expertise in ultra-thin movements and refined components. For example, some of the gears in the 1208P movement measure no more than 0,12 mm and are hardly thicker than a human hair. The space between the wheels has been reduced to its minimum of only 0.1 mm. The movement is fitted with a balance stop. In order to make the best use of space, the rose gold micro-rotor decorated with the Piaget coat-of-arms, is off-center and positioned at 9 o'clock. The movement is fitted with a small seconds which is also off-center and located at 5 o'clock on the dial. As part of the watchmaker Piaget's constant effort to differentiate its models, it has decorated the 1208P movement wheels with a sunburst motif and a dedicated index assembly carries the stylized "P" of Piaget like a secret signature. Circular Côtes de Genève, a circular-grained mainplate, beveled bridges and blued screws add the finishing touches to this movement, and are reminders of the Swiss watchmaking brand's high aesthetic values. Check out the Piaget web site for some amazing movements including the thinnest tourbillon, thinnest moon phase and several more. http://www.piaget.com/movement/600p-tourbillon-movement?collection=373
  18. Matter of opinion. I can't even see the LEC on mine without a magnifier, but I've only got 20/40 vision. But I can see the ugly bevel cut on the outer edge of the "ultimate" crystal in every picture I look at.
  19. It is a shame you can't take the "ultimate" SD and change that crystal. You've got the better rehaut on the case but the crystal ruins it for me.
  20. +3 Stem is pressing in to tight. Might've been slightly unscrewed when removing it last time, seeing that the only change was the crown and stem being removed to replace the crystal.
  21. Trouble with the LV gen insert is they are WAY too expensive.
  22. The only good green ones I've seen are the old WM9 and the current TC Subs aren't too bad. All the standard eBay ones I've seen suck.
  23. Your one hole short. Doesn't look at all like my gen DJ Jubilee. Also, the stamping is for a Two Tone bracelet.
  24. Excellent! Glad it all came together for you. It looks like you've acquired a family heirloom.
