  1. dutchguy, Nex5 with leica lens take incredible pics. my friend bought one reently and the photos are great. too bad i bought a Gf2 and have to stick to this for a while..
  2. How's the plating on these? Can you see steel or thin layer of gold plating between the endlinks on the bracelet? Thanks!
  3. Damn, sold mine last year and found myself needing one..If anyone has a spring loaded Yuki, please let me know...
  4. ..i have a gen xtal installed on a J-F case (gen dial)
  5. My personal experience is that RSC will have to ask their clients to sign off on the acceptance of service case before they proceeded to do such works. The RSC usually don't have any service case - and according to RSC in my location, they willl have to place an order with Geneva. That happened to me 3/4 years back, i can imagine the rules would not have changed.
  6. great pics.. i like the nato. The photos taken by Leica look different than those from other cameras..Is there any other camera that can 'adopt' Leica lens? here are some pic of my Daytona taken by a Canon
  7. Wow...Fantastic! Much better than lots of expensive build... The only things i dont like is as Freddy said the case needs to be softened (but with time it will be softened) and also get rip of that rep insert. To my knowledge there is not a good replacement 60 min MOD insert available with the exception of RSC Bexley...the rep insert have too many tells
  8. Personally i think Gilt dial is always (1) glossy (2) gold letterings Other than that its just a glossy dial
  9. so i will be going to NYC for business trip and will spend a week there with my lady.. i understand that resturants like Nobu will require at least 30 days advance booking. are there any big name resturant like Nobu in NYC that in your opinion is a must? any other suggestion is welcome thanks in advance Flex
  10. Beautiful....! wear it in good health
  11. i meant a white 1665...yuki doesn't carry DRSD case set
  12. i had a Yuki 1665 build. the case and engraving were good. the only mod needed were the fat CG. thumbs up for Yuki
  13. great info JKay..never heard of it before. or even never in my right mind could have thought about that. i guess i m old school in that removing the movement is the first and foremost priority in pressure testing the watch
  14. dutchy, of course you are not. there's an increasing trend for buyer to claim some money back for whatever reasons. probably due to buyer morse, i do not know. flex
  15. i think you are trying to fit the newer SD bracelet to a 1665? that will not fit, although i never tried. the cheap & quick solution is to get a pair of aftermarket (thinner kind) spring bars and and use your 503B and aftermarket 93150 combo. more expensive route would be to have one of the resident modders here to have the lug holes enlarged / drilled out to accept the gen spec spring bars. hope that helps
  16. are the subdials really that shinny? the gen is close to matte
  17. ..don't brother with a replica 6538 case. just get a tudor jumbo ref 9080 which is made with the same size as 1019 (and its still probably cheaper for now). rumors has it that Rolex used the left over 1019 case for the Tudor Jumbo...
  18. chief, stick to the white dial.....i hardly wore my black dial. although in gen world, the black dialed Daytona is slightly more expensive. i sold my gen 116520 last week - if it did have a black dial, the buyer would pay 1.5k more. flex
  19. thats very beatiful.. swap out a gen dial, it is golden. is the datewheel for yellow gold or just the picture?
  20. I found JD's watch..and interest VRF comments that there should be half a dozen - since it is so rare, so to me it is even more cool O.E. (Login O.E.) VRF Emeritus 62.178.129.187 Re: There were about half a dozen made... February 17 2007, 2:09 AM This is a rumor with the half dozen....... The officially DD in steel had a common Ref.-Nr. (6512 with plain steel bezel and 6511 with WG bezel, so called "Rolesor White") and later 6611 and 6612 (again: AFAIK). Allegedly Rolex gave such watches every year to the best people from their watchmaker school as a gift, I don't know wich Ref.-Nr. and so on. These watches without any numbers on the case was used intern by Rolex technicans allegedly for testing the DD movements. So all this cases what are outside from the Rolex factory and to purchase, are stolen or not genuine. fumanku (Login fumanku) VRF Member 64.186.162.98 same story I heard.... January 17 2011, 10:58 AM I've examined SS day-date cases before. No serial or ref numbers, as they were "dummy" or test cases used internally. Not that cool imho.
  21. phong mid case (with bezel) is around 1,250 now....he had upped his price me think. do you have any info on Yuki's..? they are about Us$800. flex
  22. Patek's dial layout is perfect...movement finish to me looks better than Lange, jimho
