  1. Larger pics and tell us who the seller is- maybe someone will have bought one of these cases
  2. Show us which case you're looking at and maybe someone will know. 2836-2 cases are more prevalent IMO.
  3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DG-3804-automatic-GMT-date-movement-/322329946432?hash=item4b0c5ca940:g:-LUAAOSwcLxYLAEu
  4. eta 2824-2 and any other eta that fits like a 2824-2- about 4.6mm tall.
  5. I have a 2834-2 in a sub of mine- it is a from an old knock-off that I got around 2006. So I figure that it's a swiss eta. I think the day wheel was removed and a DWO installed. I installed it in a St 3035 case with a matte 16800 dial and used the #2 rafflestime ring. I also have a swiss 2836-2 movement in a watch that is a Rolex DD rep so I figure the two movements are so close they can go either way.
  6. Well after comparing Trusty's pics and Puretime's, which may in part be the same pics, I guess Trusty's is the SH3135. And they're both the same price also. If the SH 3135 is a 25 jewel movement, I guess they just left out 6 jewels.
  7. MOVEMENT: Nickel Plated Asia Clone 3135 Automatic Movement, 25J, 28800bph with fully decorated bridges/plates & rotor I have a hard time seeing this as a SH3135- what about the 25 jewels and fully decorated. Don't the Yuki and the SH have 31 jewels like the real 3135?
  8. I wouldn't be happy paying $418 for a 2836-2 modded to look like a 3135!
  9. Best bet is to watch Vintage Rolex Market- VRM. Also, a 7205, and a 7835 will also work. Finding correct 571 or 71 end pieces could also be a challenge. DW used to sell a 78350 with the correct 571 end pieces- know it's not gen, but it's decent.
  10. Sounds like that'll work. What most people have done is use the chinese 3804 GMT movement that comes in the 1655 Explorer since it has the lower beat- 21600, but certainly the 2893 is a better movement. Spacer ring that I've used is the #2 http://rafflestime.com/movement-ring-for-dg-2813-or-others-that-fit-size-2/
  11. the rafflestime ring will work I would think, but I'm thinking your stem position is going to be too high, so that would mean a dial spacer and maybe a taller canon pinion, etc.
  12. I was wondering about a relume myself.
  13. Looks fine to me, but I'm no expert on the 114060. 9.9 seconds per day, plus or minus I guess- fair enough on a 2813. Pressure tested to 3 bars- which is 100ft. If the 2813 craps out, you can get another one for $30-40 and swap it in. Enjoy!
  14. I just saw this on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bulova-Accutron-Mens-65B168-Accu-Swiss-Chronograph-Automatic-Dress-Watch-/262618973094?_trkparms=5373%3A0|5374%3AFeatured A Swiss chronograph for $320! Wonder if it's an Asian 7750, otherwise you could buy the watch and take the movement out of it.
  15. The information isn't in any books that I know of. This is just stuff I've picked up in 11 years of collecting. Books can't hurt, and reading on Vintage Rolex Forum is also a good idea. Looking at specific models on VRM or on ebay can also be helpful. I started out with the 1680 subs and then went on to the 16800 and finally the 16610. A good book is "Vintage Rolex Sport Models" by Skeet and Urul- you might check it out. And if you find a flat top 3 DW on a 16610, you can be sure it's aftermarket- Rolex never made one and the DW on a 1575 movement won't fit on a 3135 movt.
  16. The open 6/9 datewheels were on the early 16610s and L serials came right after the R serial so your DW is original. The flat top 3s were only on the 1680/1665s, etc., watches with the 1575 Rolex movement.
  17. Beautiful watches- that 1002 caught my eye- a white dialed Explorer almost. Great work!
  18. You can look around for a thicker gasket- good luck! When you're fitting aftermarket parts, there might not be much you can do if the parts don't fit.
  19. Long, but interesting article. Looks like Buyer Beware!
  20. @ Sogeha, it sounds like you'll make a good apprentice to Nanuq!
  21. Align the cyclops and press the crystal and gasket on the case. Then take a crystal press and press the steel hoop on over the gasket and crystal. Or install the steel hoop and the bezel together with a crystal press over the gasket and crystal. A crystal press can hopefully be found for cheap (barato) in your country https://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?dir=asc&order=EAScore%2Cf%2CEAFeatured+Weight%2Cf%2CSale+Rank%2Cf&p=2&q=crystal+press
  22. From the picture, it's hard to tell what kind of rep you have. We need see all of the parts that you have. If it's a 295-C crystal, it's fairly easy to get another gasket from a watch supply house. But the steel ring is not a Rolex part as far as I know, so then you're trying to put the watch with a rep assembly back together, we need to know what all the parts involved are. A 115200 would have the crystal and gasket and then the bezel would press over the crystal and gasket. Your steel hoop is an extra part as far as I can tell. Can you press the steel hoop on with a crystal press- over the gasket and crystal and then press on the bezel?
  23. You'd have to fit a plastic crystal on a 16200 case to build a 1016. I built a 1016 with a 1601 case and it turned out very nicely- can't remember which crystal I used w/o a cyclops- maybe a T-21 and jmb turned a bezel for me- it's WR to boot!
  24. I would think it would work. The cases are slightly different, but they're both 36mm and Rolex is known for keeping things simple- dial for a 16000 and 16200 DJ are interchangeable even though the movements are different- dial feet are in the same place. Certainly worth a try.
