  1. There are a number of dealers selling the OR strap and deployment. Cost around a hun. I wear it with my SOH, and the strap and clasp are first rate. I think most of us that own this set up would agree.
  2. Saturday off with camera in hand. I always thought about showing a few of my faves...so here they are: Brown Collection: Classic English (made in England) Oxford - age 35 Cole Hann Spectator (Got married in these) - age 30 Santoni tassle loafer (Italian) - age 7 Cole Hann Moc driver - talk about comfortable... age 3 Black Collection: And my all time favorite boot ever!!! Larry Mahan black lizard...These boots are 27 years young and still look great...no cracking and sooo damn comfortable - mostly for dress. Classic dress shoe - Ferragamo (Italian) ...don't see too much action but a beautiful shoe - age 35 Newest accquistion - Donald Pliner (Made in the mountains of Italy) Softest of the soft leather - age 2 They are actually Dark Chocolate Brown Cole Hann tassle loafer - for summer evenings - no socks -age 10 Last but not least...Prada soft leather - bought these guys on last trip to Italy - HAD to have them...reminds me of an old style boxing shoe...ONLY 'sneakers' I own - age 4 I love beautiful footwear about the same as classic watches. Thanks for looking.
  3. Baldrick... Great post. I feel saddened to hear of your confirmation of his death. In the end of my personal dealings with him (another story) he still treated me with civility and respect. I am sorry to hear that he is gone. As you have stated earlier in this thread, his photographic skills are legendary in the WIS world. So as I have stated earlier here...May he rest in peace.
  4. I like the Patek-Phillipe site. Talk about upscale?
  5. Ah yes reminiscing... I remember RYA and his encounter with DLG and Klink at the original So Cal GTG. Those were the days. I too have spent time talking with Neil on the phone back in the day, and yes, he was well spoken and much the gentleman. But there were issues, more than just one or two. Too bad those issues were ultimately unresolveable. Thanks Offshore for the Keysersozes link. Actually quite a nice blog spot. Interesting...but after spending a bit of time there I cannot see it being Neil that is making the contributions. But there is always hope.
  6. Thursday and Friday for sure. SOH on OR strap and deployment. Lani's SOH post inspired me. The dial and AR on this watch is absolutely beautiful.
  7. Like a few others posting here, I still prefer the non-chrono version of this beautiful watch. After purchase, I sent this baby on to The Zigmeister for the treatment, and in combo with the Ocean Racer strap, I feel that this watch is one of the nicest divers around. I think that the rep OR strap and clasp are top notch...definitely NOT crap. The SOH is the only Beitling I own. I DO agree that the chrono version is a VERY handsome watch...wear it well.
  8. You are a lucky man. Beautiful boy. I guess he will have a few vintage watches to wear as he ages. Congratulations!!!
  9. Watch or no watch..The Bourne series is the best spy action movie trilogy ever made. Jason Bourne - Matt Damon (That would be JB) would kick (and DOES kick) James Bond's (that too would be JB) ass. Now if we could just get the next super spy to wear a PP Nautilus, that would make the guy really awesome.
  10. 'Thank you'. Followed by a short discourse on it's beauty and versatility. If the compliments continue, then I am happy to explain a bit about the watch, it's history and my love of automatic watches in general. If the person extending the compliment is knowledgeable concerning the specific piece, then I am happy to share my extensive knowledge concerning it's origin, the designer, the manufacturing process, it's price, and why everyone who loves such timepieces should own one.
  11. He is (was) one in a million...that is for sure. My guess is that rumors of his passing are 'greatly exaggerated.' That NOT being the case, I can only say...Neil, 'Rest in Peace'.
  12. With age...comes reason. That is probably the reason I must say no to cargo shorts. Cargo PANTS when I travel (to carry things..passport/tickets/money), but that is it. For shorts the only way to go is board riders...long but loose fitting and low waisted. Low waisted means that most fat people can't wear them... I like that. Does that sound pretenscious? Good.
  13. I wear Swiss made 'eyephorics', the BEST rimless frames around. They weigh 2 ounces. No rim and feather light. I highly recommend this brand. Not cheap, but last for ever and are hard to damage. Next... I recommend Armani frames, again..not cheap but the quality is unsurpassed. Next 'Oliver Peoples'. Classic frames. Again, not cheap. For middle of the road pricing, try TAG Hueur, or Calvin Klein. They both make a variety of mid ranged priced frames...very contemporary. The cooloest thing about the Swiss made 'eyephorics' is that they have a really nice variety of custom len's, and offer the customer the option of designing your own lens shape. Many high end opticians have catalouges for this brand. Ask.
  14. I am quite sure that the RO preceded your Bulova. Genta designed, the Royal Oak is still an icon to this day. I must say however that this Bulova is a very nice find, and I am quite sure it was a bit less expensive than the AP even back in the day when you could buy a classic like the RO for hundreds instead of thousands. Wear it well.
  15. You guys are showing some BEAUTIFUL pieces on this thread. This was my first Pam.... purchased from Eddie Lee in 2004. The 112F was the first Pam ever offered on the old RWG and TRC. I own a few other Panerai models, but this one is still my fave.
  16. Well from the other postings here today, it had to be either this V1 #1 from Eddie, or... my original 112F, also from Eddie. can't go wrong with either one. A great weekend to all.
  17. I like the look of many watches, branded or not. I own a number of Seiko's, like the Monster, where design and substance are way more desireable than whether or not it is expensive. Many Pam styles look great whether the Panerai name is on the dial or not. So in many cases the name is unimportant. On the other hand an Invicta, that looks like a Rolli sub does not appeal to me. Many of my favorite watches, mostly Genta designs, appeal to me because of the look of the piece, not the name on the dial...period. My all time favorite design, the PP Nautilus, is beautiful for the design and construction, NOT because it says Patek Phillipe on the dial.
  18. My only Breitling is the Heritage, fairly untypical I have always felt. The Blackbird is the only other model that has ever appealed to me. Your's is a shining example of this model...and your photos are superb!!!! Wear it well. What a beautiful watch.
  19. No engraving on the caseback is not a good sign. The watch certainly has a lot of wear indicating the age at circa 1960's, but it is possible that it is a fake. Checking vintage Omega forums might be the best bet. The dial and indices look pretty good, however. There is a Canadian vintage watch dealer (Dorian??) that features many vintage Semasters, might be worth checking thier stock, for clues.
  20. After re reading this thread this morning I went to my watch box, and switched from my Vintage Seamaster Pro to my Heritage on the OR strap. It is such a beautiful piece. Thanks for the inspiration.
  21. The Yacht Club is NICE!!!!!! Very cool pushers. Love the rubber strap as well.
  22. Same ol' here. Daily beater with gen rubber strap and SS deployment. I love this watch.
  23. 6263 and 6265. These babies see little wrist time, but they are beautiful...that is for sure.
