Every watch I've posted here is a "value watch" .. the dealers do not overcharge for them, and they can be had for close to 100 bux!!
The Lange has a fantastic double-barrel winding box with a 80+ hour reserve. The IWC F A Jones has a sublime engraved movement, and the sunburst dial on the Glashutte is hypnotizing in the sun.
If you wear a Crazy Hours, you will be approached by people all the time asking what it is and how it works.
The 7750 type watch movement has over 200 parts, and requires a watchmaker who knows it intimately in order to achieve ultimate satisfaction. There are a few forum members here in the continental USA who can do this for you, but I would not know of a normal watch shop in the Northeast to handle this.
If / When the watch starts to act oddly, then send it off to a trusted Forum watchsmith .. the lowest you can expect to pay for a full service of this chronograph monster is $175 .. then you should be perfectly happy for 4 or 5 years (the watch oil dries up over time in any watch)
Individual watchsmith pricing varies wildly.
This is a document, so why mess around with tinker-toy 3rd party file hosts .. I uploaded it to Google Docs
Either read it in situ or download it on the File menu.
The bezel insert marker Triangle is perfectly straight, the insert sits a fraction of a mm too high, the pearl has no dome, and the Helium Escape Valve is a little incorrectly shaped. Those are the tells on Trevor.
The bezel insert marker triangle is too curved, and the hour markers on the dial are too fat. Those are the tells on the Noobfactory.
I was reading that the heat and pressure required to create a black diamond can not exist on the Earth, and as such, all black diamonds are sourced from the super-nova explosions of stars.
I thought that was interesting.
Why not build a nice 1680 Submariner franken. It's classic and a gen is only about $4000-$10,000 USD .. so you could "pull it off" credibly, since you already own a "$9,000" replica (the DSSD) ... Or a 1665 Sea Dweller .. same price range .. Don't go crazy and build a Red dial .. go with a Great White.
