  1. Beautiful, It's just too bad that there isn't a Domi class watchmaker here in the states. Pretty hard to fault his work. That's a great Christmas/New Years present.
  2. this is what's going on later today, as soon as I change the strap out to an SMPLover Croc with a tang buckle (20mm like the new 2014's are sporting) More photos later!! Happy New Year.
  3. Happy New Year from the rainy and cold South!! Little late as I have been cooking all morning. Black eyed Peas and ham, cabbage rolls stuffed with beef and rice. Got to bring in the New Year right!! Here's to a Happy Safe and prosperous New Year to all of my friends and members on RWG.
  4. Very sorry about your health problem. Really sad ,we found out today that another long time member here, Cats, passed away after a valiant fight with Kidney cancer. AFA your watches, you should send a PM to Mike on a Bike, he is a moderator here, and is very good with helping out with VIP memberships, etc. Anything else we can do to help, please let us know.
  5. Rex has closed his business, moved to Florida, and AFA I know isn't working on watches any more. also he has a bunch of member watches (including an AP ROO of mine) which he has had for months and will not return, although when you email him, he always tells you "I'm trying to get everything finished up and out next week" which is a total lie. He is beginning to act a lot like MD2020 did over here a year ago. Some of the other watch guys will work on Swiss 7750's but won't touch an A7750 with a barge pole. Really is a big problem, and was the topic of about a 6-7 page thread over on RepGeek this past week. Not much in the way of alternatives for folks here in the USA who have A7750 based watches. My solution is, no more A7750 watches, as much as I like them, and over time, I'm going to get rid of all of the ones I have. If I have a watch I really love, I might spring for a Swiss 7750 to transplant in, but otherwise, I'm afraid they are going to be someone else's headache in the future. Really sorry about the movements, because I really like the AP ROO's but they are just too big a hassle, and way to expensive and frustrating to get repaired. I have a really nice White Dial Datora which I like a lot, but I'm scared of the movement.
  6. Andy, Our good friend legend has pretty well summed up this one!! this is pretty much on par with the ones you see in those cartoons where the guy approaches you on the street, opens his coat wide and the inside is covered with watches. "Wanna buy a genuine ROLEX, fellow"? " I can give you a great deal on one"!! AFA the movement. I would expect that this is a very cheap copy of the 2824, certainly not a Swiss ETA.
  7. Sad to hear the news. A true gentleman and a great asset to our community. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

  9. Andy, Before you spend one Euro for a rep, you need to first decide exactly which model you want. Then you need to get very familiar with that model in the genuine watch. Only after you are very familiar with the genuine can you spot the flaws in the reps. If you go into a shop and are dazzled by all the pretty, shiny watches, you are going to end up with a rep that is full of flaws, at a very high price. You said you were in Thailand for the moment, which indicates that you are from somewhere else. Buy some local souvenirs to take home, when you are not in that vacation "I have to buy something to take home to show off to my friends" mode you can take the time to do your research and end up with a nice watch at a reasonable price. Buy on impulse and you will more than likely end up with a crappy rep at a big price! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. I believe Mike is your best bet. I would suspect that these dealers sell a lot of watches through the forums. While there are not that many people who are paying members and contribute regularly, I'm sure there are hundreds more that visit specifically to find a rep watch. I doubt that any dealer wants to get "sideways" with the administrators over watch deals that can be easily solved.
  12. There is a pretty lengthy discussion over on RepGeek about the "Clone" movements, there are some photos of the decorated AP movements that are basically from what I could see and read, an A2824 with bridges and dengraving added. Possibly what you are needing to find out is in that thread. Here is a link, hope this helps. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=242564
  13. That sounds really suspicious. First off, why don't they put a new movement in the watch? These are regular A7750 movements, correct? Probably cost the factory 15-20 bucks each in bulk. Silly for the TD's to jack folks around like that., send the buyer a new watch, and keep a happy ,satisfied customer. Things like this are one of the reasons I seldom buy a new watch from a TD, just not willing to put up with all the BS that goes along with purchases gone bad!
  14. Still wearing the FC!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. The best DJ's around are those built by mymanmatt, hands down, however his are pretty far above your budget. I believe that your best bet is to try to find one on the Trusted dealer websites. If you can't find one there, then they are probably not available as a rep. Go to the dealer section, go to their websites and look.
  16. Wearing my FC V3. Will have a bandage over my incision for a couple of weeks, so need a comfortable watch to wear over the "south end" of the bandage.
  17. Another man who has figured out one tiny bit of that life long odyssey called "keeping the wife happy". Women like things that sparkle, the more the sparkle, the more they like it!! That is a beauty, I'm sure she will be a happy girl come tomorrow.
  18. Beautiful. Ivan is truly the master!!
  19. I think that looks pretty cool!! It does break up the all black look. Very nice, unfortunately, it's too big for my puny wrists!! Like the red shade, it's not so much and "in your face" bright red, but a more refined subtle color. just the ticket for a refined gentleman like yourself. I had never heard of SMPLover, except for some of his posts on another forum, I bought one of his straps in a M2M sale, actually it was a mistake as I thought it was a 20mm size for the new 2014 ROO's, but it was a diver strap. I liked it so much I put it on my RG Diver, to replace the rubber strap. It's a really nice high quality strap, and to me makes the RG a lot less casual and more wearable.
  20. Very nice gift. Most wives are only interested in a new watch when it shows up, and she is either, indifferent, which may be good!! Indignant, because you are buying all these watches and nothing for her. Or worse case she is furious because she believes that your hobby is wrecking the family budget. Not many are lucky enough to have one that is understanding like droptop's bride, even if they don't share your enthusiasm. My wife loves watches, she however is not a fan of reps, of anything. She would rather have a real Seiko than a rep Rolex, although her watch tastes have gotten more expensive over the years. Because she likes nice watches, her collection is not nearly as large as mine!! She is very understanding of my hobby, although she has a pretty difficult time with understanding why anyone would need 30+ watches, which I counter with, "why would anyone need 100+ pairs of shoes!!
