  1. Whilst I have two winders - a 6 watch winder and a 24 watch winder, I don’t use them that often. If you’ve a few watches that you wear in rotation every few days then great, it saves setting the time so you’re set to grab and go. However, once a week or so you’re going to have to reset the time anyway. As for increased wear, yes probably a little but it saves on wear on the crown and tube! I have them now mostly as display cabinets.
  2. It’s difficult for me at the moment as my company has to meet food producers rules and regulations (not a food manufacturer but supplies supermarkets) so we are not allowed to wear watches because broken glass could cause an issue. I managed to get a concession to wear a watch with a plexi - so a 1960’s Seiko is my daily wear. That means I have to get my daily dose of watches in the few hours in the evening! Blue Surf for the win.
  3. Or maybe One or other, but it’s definitely an omega day.
  4. They could be water resistant to a certain depth or not. It depends on how well they were assembled at the factory. Some are some aren’t. You can have them tested by a local jeweller and if they fail get them sealed up. Generally, there are only a couple of areas that need attention - the case back O ring and the crown.
  5. Thickness is limited by the movement type. Typically a lot of chronographs use a 7750 movement. If you select a rep of a gen using a 7750 then it could be the correct thickness compared to the gen. My rep Seamaster chrono passed a pressure test with flying colours and I’d have no issue with taking it for a swim. Although I’d not use the chrono underwear like you can with the gen.
  6. You should always have at least 20-30 Ali $5 specials. This way your boxes are always looking full to to untrained (wifely) eye. You can then swap them out for something better as and when without her getting suspicious. You can tell I’ve been ‘happily’ married for over 10 years!
  7. We’re expecting your true nature to return when next door is up and running. I can’t imagine how hard it is to keep all your rage and pent up frustrations in check. Unleash the Kraken!
  8. Gen dial? No, not on this one, it’s a blue rep dial. I had the colour of the hands changed, a black date wheel fitted, a prof 2xAR crystal installed and the PO bezel fitted. Oh and a gen crown and tube fitting started the whole thing off.
  9. Nice. Is the gmt hand independently adjustable?
  10. That’s an interesting read and a lot of batteries. From how I read your post batteries seem to be getting less prone to leaks?
  11. Our @Legend is a gentleman and a scholar. I’m not surprised about his ability but am with the way that the OEM treated you. Oh, BTW look out for Legend in the next Avengers movie where he goes around smashing poor workmanship, rescuing kittens and enlightening maidens.
  12. Haha, welcome back mate. Yes the world has gone a little mad. Are you wanting to join the club?
  13. Here you go. https://rwg.cc/store/category/1-account-upgrade/
  14. Keep the suggestions coming guys. At the moment it looks like the sales section needs an overhaul.
  15. Did you purchase it from a TD here? There are a few watchsmiths here but I don’t know of any in Ireland. Maybe @Sogeha can help suggest someone.
  16. Why were you banned Micky?
  17. I can’t advise other than buy the one that you like the look of the most. Spending on a gen dial and bezel will cost a fair amount and I’d not bother until you’re sure that it’s really what you want to do. These reps are generally great out of the box.
  18. Have you looked at the trusted dealers on the forum? They can source any rep available.
  19. Looks like you all had fun. Some nice watches there.
  20. Moved to general as we’ll name legend, but no need to shame him!
