They are a chain of shoe repair shops that also cut keys and service watches. The watch servicing on site usually consists of bracelet adjustment and battery change. Why would anyone with a watch worth anything go there? Although they can generally send watches away to their service centre and a real watchsmith. I did go into a branch and they pressure tested my Seamaster Chronograph and it passed with flying colours - to their machines limit.
The first man to run a mile in under 4 minutes died yesterday at the age of 88. He later went on to become a talented neurosurgeon. A man of many talents. RIP Sir Roger.
Modded/Franken is the same thing to me. Where as a Genstein is a gen watch that’s been changed from OEM spec, such as a dial, bezel or strap swap to another from the same manufacturer. IMHO of course.
Unfortunately that is a bit like asking how long a piece of string is - as it’s an old rep. Maybe post a photo of the movement and maybe someone can help.
Gold!
Reminds me of when I was dating a girl and I always said with a smile “shall I use the gold condom tonight”? Once she said “how about using the silver one and coming second for once”! Doh!!!!
I believe that a lot of newbies hit and run as they’ve no intention of becoming part of the community. Once they’ve had the information on ‘who has the best sub’, they’re off without a thank you. Legend suffers these fools more than most as he is a gentleman with a vast amount of knowledge and is happy to share. But, come on guys, just say please, please.
Why lie? Tell them it’s a rep. Some people will know - especially if it’s a rep of a high end, say $100,000 timepiece. A lot about you gives away if you’re wearing a gen high end watch or a rep anyway.
