1st rep purchase! Tudor Heritage Chrono
Nightwatch replied to mountaineer's topic in General Discussion
Hi and welcome. Great purchase in my opinion, I like the Chrono a lot (and the gen blue one is fabulous). Have my eye on one of these with the grey dial for quite some time already. This looks well on the bracelet and also fine on a NATO strap with a touch or orange. -
I´ve read that posting them, 2 at a time is not a bad idea if You have somebody to pick them up locally (or to a store/café something like that) or have somebody posting them to You after You left.

Breitling as well. It´s been the steelfish since I took it out of the box on the 16th, its just too comfortable on the Martu strap
-
Probably in Vegas it will be a total success. Got less functional as a GMT so. No the Merc, its much too sober - it needs the roof chopped off and some more bling:)
-
The strap You are heaving made is fantastic, otherwise Armanous has the right "weathered toolwatch-look". Personally I like the greenish/turquoise oxidation saltwater produces even more.

Hi and welcome. 5 mins doesn´t sound like winding to me at all. Does this mean it runs 5 mins slow if only half wound? Strange watch, could understand it stopping if not wound, or running slow by 1 minute but running slow like that? If op wants to return this he has to act +- fast.

Somehow they look weird to me as well. Maybe compare to the new super-rep (pricewise) of that model on TD´s sites or is it the $458 one - on Toros site looks almost the same with angled numbers but too small to see well.
-
A 1942 vintage and waterproof Patek Chronograph with moonphase but that I could not take everywhere. The 16570 Explorer II, the 16570 GMT pictured above or the Datejust - but these are all Rolex and You can´t take them everywhere either. A Steelfish is on the wrist but the most versatile one on SS or leather strap I found it to be the Tudor Blackbay, fine enough for the office and dinner out, rugged enough for the supermarket or the beach, so it´s a go-everywhere watch and gets the most wrist-time.

Wife Franken Daytona is finally complete on an OEM pink strap.

It looks sharp and unbelievably "real". If this was available like this from the TD´s I´d get one right now. Is it gen? Do You have more pics? -
The gen Yachtmaster uses this exact same red seconds hand. The case specification and thickness is much more gen-like than any standard 16610 rep available with the TD´s (its thinner) and thus comes with a lower gravity center. This has the KH - dial and in real life You immediately notice its something special (compared to a rep) or its something "normal" compared to a gen. At the time I ordered it the special dial was only available for the Caddell specials. The engraving and lettering is white, sharp and crisp, not dull. Hands and dial markers are polished and "shine" compared to the otb - reps. When You take a 10x lupe to it the dial surface is black and totally smooth. It´s a TC, when You hold in hands the red seconds hand and inverted datewheel are just nice additional gags. I´ll let some more pics do the talking

Congrats on the different bronze. Does the lume really shine like in the adverts?

Hi, received the BP from Toro and still waiting for a black Migliore strap. The sailcloath it comes with will fit a 7.5 wrist on the 3rd hole for wearing at home or with care. Its very short on both sides and feels flimsy worn like that. Ordered the Torx T3 drivers, worked fine. My Brady sailcloath with 22mm and inbuilt lugbars didn´t work at all, just falls through. Had some gen-spec 22mm Rolex springbars from Cousins.UK, they are reinforced and work perfect and hold strong. S as long as I keep changing straps I use those and have put the original strap and the Hex/Torx lugbars away in a box. 22mm straps show the lugbars and 24mm ones only some will fit (with removed tubes if they have any). After trying out a black croc its on a Breitling style whitestitched shark by now that goes quite well. The watch itself is a beauty by day and night, although unexpectedly huge (width and thickness) size comparison pic to the Seiko SNZH57/FF & the lumeshot

PAM-Day, its comfortable and nobody knows what it is where I´m around today anyway
-
Have bought first class quality springbars from Cousins.Uk but those where shipped to EU together with some other pieces.

For EU it´s available including DHL shipping for $169 (without the jubilee bracelet, it´s sold out), never had to pay import taxes yet when buying from them 3-5 days to EU: http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-automatic-watches-69/seiko-automatic-divers-skx009k1-skx009k-skx009-1454.html It´s the chance to get the Super oyster bracelet for it later:)
