  1. However you might sell your creations? And offer luming them according to wishes (from a color chart) or something with the possibility of either selling hands with the same lume. (And you can make it easy for yourself and purchase hand sets from e.g. HR + Tiger Concept // TC // etc etc.) Easy to purchase, choose dial, size, hands, lume-or-not, age-or-not In the beginning, I don't know 150 USD-200 USD? That's just an idea, not eactly offered in a small-scale-for-vintage-rep-enthusiast. Custom dials + hands. Not the "crispest" quality, but exactly as you want 'em. --- Modding other peoples watches however... That is dangerous territory.
  2. @Avenue @ChrisBlank I've just picked up what others have taught, reading the Rolex-forums here, on RWI, RG and so on. A lot can be found using the search function either here or on google. A good "background" to start is this: http://rwg.cc/topic/142137-gen-rolex-gmt-master-ii-ceramic-vs-noob-rep Although it's from 2012 and GMTc, the basics are still valid. Then look at genuine pictures, and Noob v6s and compare to other reps. Go to a Rolex AD and feel + look at the watch in question. I'm using the Noob v6s (as the bracelet is almost spot-on) as example and pictures from InTime (since the lighting is excellent!) Okay, step 1, The angle & lengths REP GEN ^ 1) The angle of the "middle link" in the SEL is a bit "higher" and less slope than the case lugs slope ; 2) It is also (of course) longer ^ 1) The "outer links" start by following the slope of the case lugs, but then starts declining and has a higher slope around the middle of the distance REP ^ 2) They are shorter Step 2, tightness and flush ^ The backside should basically sit flush to the case (a little tiny gap, yeah) however the level of the SEL should neither create a "step up" or a "step down" ^ also the gap between the lugs and the SEL should be tight (little light passing through). TC, that makes the classic Sub 11610 matches his SELs/bracelets with different tolerances to create this effect. However... there is no such thing as a gap-less bracelet. GEN ---- When you think you've picked up what it's all about, check this thread out: http://rwg.cc/topic/183576-noob-116610-v6s-sel-irregularities Train that eagle eye. It was hard in the beginning, I didn't understand all the SEL-talk either... --------------------------------------- Also.. I should add. The SEL-fitment is that way on most BPs. It simply has to do with the fact that the BP-bracelet isn't "100%" so... Live with it, or look for a JF / LF-bracelet in the the M2M-ads. I would chose to live with it and accept it's flaws. Otherwise... The mish-mashing begins, and you will notice how you suddenly have a Noob v3/v6s midcase, gen bezel insert, LF/Noob-bracelet, gen crown, gen crystal, TC LV v2-hands, relumed dial+hands and a big hole in your pocket and spare parts you have no use for.
  3. Yellow gold-watches should only be worn in Florida.
  4. Rehaut alignment looks good (from the very narrow angle) Dial looks good Bezel insert looks ok SEL-fitment isn't the best Crystal looks well-aligned Date wheel overlay looks centered Other than that, what is there to say... A good BP-Sub.
  5. Well that's the way reps are sometimes. Some days you are the bug, some days you are the windshield. I learned to be very careful and ask for extra QC pictures, and also refusing some watches during QC. My first rep was a SubC Noob v3 from one of the biggest TD's. When I received it, the first thing that happened winding it up was declaring it dead. I had it repaired for 150€ but then it went +/- 5 secs for 2 years... I got 20USD refund. I would ask for a 20 USD discount on next purchase or something and just accept it. Anyways... New dial or not. With genuine superluminova you will be very-very surprised. No rep dial even comes close. Flakey lume or not. (it's actually a bit more lumey than genuine Rolex Chromalight, Zocker made a post about it on RWI)
  6. I love it!! Why facories don't rep 3239(-06) I cannot fathom.
  7. Since it's a modern re-lume we're talking about I would recommend: 1) Kenny at http://www.rwg.bz/board/ has raving reviews (also he's in Europe) 2) Dirk (Zocker....) over at www.replica-watch.info is really good (+ he's an expert when it comes to modern Rolex) (also Europe) It's somewhere around 100-150€. If you have some free cash, (although the stock crystal is actually quite good) invest in a gen crystal. I think that Zocker can help you with that. Then, there aren't any obvious tells to speak of.
  8. Do yourself a favor and have the dial + hands relumed with genuine Superluminova BGW9. Trust me, it's worth it.
  9. Congratulations, a magnificent watch! Might I be so nosy and ask what the different parts cost you?
  10. These are the new Dutch tulips. As always before a financial crash luxury items tend to either be overconsumed or rise absurdly in price. A watch... An investment? Please... When (not if) everything starts crashing. I'll be putting on a Seiko to tell the time. Not a fragile museum piece.
  11. @dornirit The crown on the "rehaut" the part of the case that's between the crystal and the dial is not properly aligned. The Crown should be centered (aligned with the orange). Also check all the inserts grooves. Is it dirt or is the grey/platinum color applied sloppy? Another thing to check is the cyclops. Is it in line with the dial/case? Or is it crooked? Last but not least. Check the SEL (solid endlinks) and their adhesion to the case. Look at a gen 166110 for reference what to strive for. I've borroed a picture to give you an idea (this is a Noob v6s): Good luck!!
  12. I bought this baby from HR, pearl and everything 25 USD I think...
  13. It looks like a Noob v5 from the bracelet stamp "2VU"
  14. @wright267 contact him at sead1999rg at gmail dot com
  15. Thanks @lionsandtigers, I changed the title now. Yeah, it's really beautiful, PCG is also a nice detail. I wonder if they changed the bexel?
  16. I liked the 216A more, why not a 1665 based on SD4000 or a 6542 based on Pepsi-GMTc?
  17. Total blasphemy... But I like it.
  18. Nope... That's what jackal's are selling them for. I don't know how well you know your watchmaker, but the prices I wrote in my first post is the price I pay to him. What he pays is most likely lower. AR crystal: Rolex B25-295-CAR-C1 205 EUR from secret sources Bezel insert: B315-116610-A1 160 EUR from secret sources
  19. If you only knew what some people ask for these parts. These are basically the price straight from Rolex. I've seen a 116610LN insert for 600 EUR. ... Let's put it like this. In Sweden you don't have to send your part in to Rolex in exchange for a new. Don't know if that applies to Netherlands too, but... if it does, look for a watchmaker with a Rolex acc.
  20. Thx for the tips! I'm adding this baby to the mix, maybe someone is interested in it. Fair price? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-TUDOR-ROLEX-MENS-SS-WRIST-WATCH-CASE-BACK-34-5mm-CRS-/311604813656
  21. So, I couldn't just resist the Noob v6s. However, there were a couple of issues I felt had to be addressed. Therefore, here comes my Franken-thread. Noob v6s 116610LN 338 USD from Sead/supermirror.net (A2836) BP Miyota 116610LN-dial 25 USD from Sead/supermirror.net TC 11610 LV v2 hand set 50 USD from TC AR crystal: Rolex B25-295-CAR-C1 205 EUR from secret sources Bezel insert: B315-116610-A1 160 EUR from secret sources Relume of hands and dial to Superluminova BGW aprox 100-120 EUR I've considered a 704-crown too, but I want to see how well the stock one holds up. Anything else?
