  1. Between obsessing looking for our next car, I scour for watch parts, so I'm glad to share deals for bits I think people here can use.
  2. Yeah, I thought of you when I saw it. I thought there were a couple other big crown builds going on, though.

Looking at doing a blue sunburst 5500 myself and have everything bookmarked except I can't find hands. J or alligoat, do you know where the hands originated from or if there is another alternative?
  4. I know some of you are building pieces that may be able to use this. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=161667288415&alt=web
  5. Yeah, I didn't need to know the price. I'm still new to the vintage game and even I cringed at the chamfers.
  6. New arrival. Needs some tidying, but scratches my itch for a 5513 for now.
  7. Yup. Incabloc only has one recess for the stone retainer.
  8. Damn! That is perfect. I'd say that'd be my ideal GMT. Really beautiful piece!
  9. I've seen some that almost look weaved. Anyone know where those are from?
  10. In his post, he mentions he got the bezel off the case, so your comments are moot, here. Heat away!
  11. If this is your first time performing surgery on a movement, invest in some good tools and magnifiers.
  12. I like the Snoopy, too. The first thing that jumped out to me wasn't Snoopy, though. It was the face the 12 o'clock marker looks like a [censored] and balls. I actually like the YM.
  13. That's true. I guess there's exceptions to every rule, and many times, they're LEs.
  14. Yup. Rounded "3" on the bracelet, bad insert. On top of that, claiming your watch is worth $8k because a magazine said if its worn in "The Bahamas" its worth that much. What an [censored].
  15. Looks great. Didn't know they made one. I've become used to the hollow midlink chatter on mine.
  16. Must've mistaken diameter for head size ...wait that doesn't sound right. Anyway, grats on the deal!
  17. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=161637560181&alt=web
  18. 37mm x 43mm sounds small for you, Mike. Great looking piece. Its showing up as 2195 now.
  19. Did they ever bother modding ETA2836 to have a GMT complication? I didn't think they did and it was only on the a2836.
  20. That's a sweeping statement that is not true. As droptop stated, it depends on the situation, but you can drill the plate to retain dial feet. All depends on the location of the feet in trelation to the movement. I can't stand the thought of clipping gen feet, so I'm always looking into and asking about ways to save them.
  21. Still this one. Need to figure out what direction to go next.
  22. The guy seems fine from his responses. We've all had knee-jerk generalizations regarding different topics throughout our lives. He seems willing to learn and has apologized well beyond what is "required".
  23. Got it. You had me worried. RW are nice, but not 1500 quid nice.
