Hello fellow members. I am asking for a tip on this issue, perhaps someone share the same experience? I got this Pilot Chrono 377717 last summer (steel bracelet and blue dial). After a couple of days, I noticed the crown did not screw in properly aligned. All though I am very careful, I have collected reps for a decade and been a member at the forum for as long as well. After I tried to screw it back in a couple of times, to make it aligned, I noticed the threads of the crown seemed to be weakening. And now it is totally impossible to screw it back in. So, only thing to do is to swap the tube and the crown, but were can I source the parts? I notice there are som gen parts on the marked, but It will cost me the price of a new rep. So, is it possible to source part from the dealer, or someone, perhaps? Should I complain? It is the Z-Factory who make this model. Dealer (xx) is a well known trusted source.

Hey Guys, I am new to the site and I have a question maybe someone can help me out. I have a replica Rolex that I have had for around 5 years. I do not know how the replica market works, but the one I have is of good quality. Never losses time, and just an overall nice piece. A couple weeks ago I was winding the watch and out of no where the stem came out as I was twisting it. I was so upset, so I have tried doing some research on getting it fixed and came up short. I don't know if there is a way I can get it repaired or is it even worth it. I am attaching some photos to help further explain. rolex back stem crown.pdf 4CA3C965-1EE3-488F-930E-ADA652494777.pdf rolex back stem 2.pdf rolex back casing.pdf rolex movement.pdf rolex sn.pdf

HI there, I posted in the AP area first but think I may get more answers here... I'm looking for a replacement crown for a AP ROO Rose Gold Wempe. Anybody got any ideas where I could possibly source one? Aftermarket or rep preferably. Oh, also...if there are any experts here that know what size I need, that would be brilliant as well. If I can use a generic aftermarket crown, that would be cool too.! Cheers in advance and have a fab and groovy day!

The rolex crown with a short pin is loose after glass repair. What would be the way to make i attach again correctly? ill be getting a caseback opener tool in the next 2 weeks. Any advice on how to make the short pin attach again to the clock mechanism again? it was a mymanmatt build and i managed to fix the glass myself. Without proper tools in a nerve breaking attemp which worked out fine thank god. im a bit sad the crown is loose does no seem broken but i can just pull it out and it wont set date time or let me rewind anymore Any advice on howto fix when i can re attach it correctly after im able to open the caseback? Not sure how its on gen datejust but it feels strange the crown can be pulled out as a seperate part. From start the crown felt a little unstable as in easily breakable. love to have the watch back on after 2 months in the drawer. Hope this can be resolved

So, I've started to collect the parts for my 1655 "Freccione", so far I have: Gen Service Dial, Gen Service Hands, Gen MK IV bezel, Gen 1575 GMT movement. Gen old style NOS Tropic 116 Still on the shopping list: Phong's 1655 Mid case + case back Gen 6mm winding crown + tube Gen Bracelet, either 78360, 62510H, 93510 (I'm still deciding although I'm leaning toward the "D link" jubilee) I need to know which 6mm winding crown should I buy. I know that the1655 uses a men's Datejust 6mm crown as opposed to the 1675 5.3mm crown. Has anyone got the correct Rolex part number for the crown + tube? thank you Max

Hey there, hope you can help me. My PAM 177 lost the crown, but the stem is still in the watch. I attached a Pic where you can see it. Would be nice if you can give me some repair advice. Yours Tom

I received my gen 703 crown today from eBay. Unfortunately for @themannier, myself or anyone else with high hopes, the gen 703 crown will not fit on the stock MBW tube, nor on the Athaya tube. The thread is wider then both. Even though the Athaya tube is wider then the MBW, it still isn't quite wide enough. This is all true unless I managed to get an incorrect crown but I don't believe that is the case. Look wise though IMO the Athaya from the outside is very close to the gen crown and I think it is a suitable part to use in place of a gen. I think it's best to save the $100+ to be spent in a better way on your build. Here are some comparison pictures: Athena Tube (left with crown) vs MBW (right no caseback) Athaya Crown MBW Crown Gen 703 MBW with stem vs Gen Athaya with stem vs Gen Athaya (left), Gen, MBW (right)

AP Wempe Scuba Rep or Aftermarket Crowns & Pushers?
Anguz posted a topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Hey lads, I have just purchased a used "rose gold" AP Wempe Scuba that is missing the crown and pusher. Does anyone know where I can get replacements for these? Alternatively, if I can only get a crown, does anyone know a good substitute if I cannot find the real deal? Thanks in advance! Cheers, Anguz- 1 reply

Hi Everyone, The locking crown on the V2 Top Gun seems to be a weak point - mine has just stopped screwing back, and I've had this fixed before too. What is involved in fixing this? Is it a new stem, or is it more complicated than that? Thanks

Just about to start my very first modding journey, an Explorer 1016. Recently purchased it from Trusty via another RWG member. Was advised to go for JMB bezel and T22 Crystal (on their way) and have been looking at gen crowns and a gen bracelet. Was considering a relume, but then figured a 30 year old watch isn't gonna have much lume left anyway. If I'm going for a vintage gen look, what's the best mods I can go for?
-
Hey guys, forgive the noob question, but I've just bought a TT 1016. Very nice, but as advised I'm having JMB provide a gen spec bezel and T22 crystal. I've also got my eye on a gen bracelt clasp. But my questions are... is it worth changing the crown to gen? There's a few on ebay 5.3mm and 6mm, both claiming to be for a 1016. Which is right?

Anyone have Hublot Diver 4000 parts???? Seems the black rubber crown piece w/ hublot "H" logo fell off my crown and I have no idea where???? Before After

Hi guys Had a 292J fall of my wrist from about 6ft high, with little more than a month of moderate usage. Thanks to the now super (in)famous crappy lugs and screws (solved it with Panatime /Loctite combo). The whole dial/movement became loose inside the case and the watch died (wouldn't wind). Long story short I happen to be friends with a great watch smith that brought the 292 back to life for $80. I ended up with a very scratched PVD crown, because the watch literally landed on it. Any ideas on where to get a replacement crown or how to fix this? All help will be very appreciated!!! Thanks a lot!!!!

Gentlemen and ladies, I recently picked up an old school MBK 1680 from another member. It was advertised as having a gen crown. The tube (clearly not a gen tube) is worn out so I ordered and have received a 703 tube. After further examination of the crown I found that it looks like (from the outside) the gen 703 crown on my 16610 but it does not have the skirt on the inside that slips down on the large o-ring on the case tube. What crown might this be...if it is gen. Additionally, it will not screw down on the new 703 tube. This is a red flag to me. Would another Rolex 7mm crown have different threads to screw down on the tube? I thought that had not changed. (Me thinks it might be the original MBK crown.) One sure fix for my problem is to order a gen 703 crown to go with the new 703 tube. Is this a real bad gig (on a 1680) or have 702 crowns and tubes been replaced with 703s. Many of the 1680s on eBay look like they have 703 setups. Thanks a million! M

One noticeable flaw with Rolex reps, is that the crowns often don't have the crimped inner edge that the gens have. I remember once hearing of someone filing down the inner edge of their rep crown to make it thinner and to give it the correct inner edge. Has anyone hear tried it? Can you post pics of your results?

I've been thinking about this one but am having fun doing some research on it before diving in. One of the things that was mentioned about this rep is the crown being too wide. From what I've seen, that doesn't seem to be the case on the "best" rep (which I could not find who makes it, all I see from the TD's is that it is made by the "best maker", and on PT this example is better than the other "1:1" model, this is one of the more confusing pieces to research). imgur.com/7ggRlc0.jpg Top is rep, bottom is gen. Its been hard to find non-rendered stock photos head-on for the gen but I think overall the rough measurement is pretty clear: right on two second notches from 3. The rep seems to nail it in that regard. Thoughts? (New member, will request link change)

Hey there watchmakes/tinkerers, I'm looking for some advice regarding my new DSSD rep (it's a piece of crap by the way) The specific issue in question is with winding the watch manually. When winding the movement the crown 'skips' about once per revolution, when I say skip, I mean loss of resistance in turning the crown, it then picks back up winding again. This happens if I am winding carefully or if I forcefully wind the watch with much authoritah. Could this be a keyless works issue or am I possibly looking at a bigger problem with this movement? For the record, this is the worst quality watch I have purchased since I started collecting, the bezel is misaligned (not a huge deal and sort of suspected from the QC pics, so we'll call that my fault) and the crown does not thread in smooth (when I say not smooth I mean I feel like I am stripping every thread all the way in). There is a tight link in the bracelet, it will only move when forced this is even after cleaning and oiling the bracelet, also this isn't a huge deal. While just the bezel or just the tight link would not bother me too much, those two combined, with the crown and movement issue leave me very disappointed in my most recent purchase.

hi guys, I'v been searching all over but can't seem to be able to find a replacement crown for my bell and ross 01-92 from angus. I went for a movement swap to an eta 2892-2 but mucked up the stem which killed the crown and its inner spring - which can no longer be screwed in to be locked. would have been an easy fix but angus doesn't sell parts.. please refer me to any dealer who might have parts, or if you have a spare, please let let me know. willing to pay. thanks!

Hello RWG What would be the most accurate crown for a 77/78 vintage 6263? 702? Thanks
-
Hi RWG, I recently picked up a Planet Ocean 42mm Ultimate (OMG0154) from Andrew of Trusty Time and am currently having a bit of a conundrum. When I first received it, I loved it; it looked great and worked really well thanks to the Swiss ETA 2824-2 movement. However, I found within closer inspection a small mark on the inside of the sapphire crystal (which the QC pics didn't show); from what I can tell it seems that it was a smudge that was a result of the AR coating applied to both sides of the crystal. This didn't bother me too much since you really had to look hard to even see it and my gen SMP 300M chronometer has a small mark from dropping it on the crystal (which is also not noticeable unless you look for it). What is really bothering me is the crown of the UPO. When I set the time initially, it took a bit to get used to the resistance of unscrewing the crown as well as screwing the crown back into the case. The other night when I finished setting the time on the UPO, I pushed in the crown and started to screw it back into the case but it pushed back out into the first position. It took a few tries and I was able to seat the crown back into the screwed down position. However, now the crown can be easily be put into the first position by touching the crown with enough force instead of unscrewing it. Now the question is, should I take this to a jeweler to have them see if they can fix it, or should I email Trusty Time to send it back and have it fixed there, or should I just leave it be? Note, that Trusty time does not do refunds or exchanges. Any input would be greatly appreciated and thank you for reading, I realize that it was a rather lengthy post.

Alright, im in the process of installing a gen tube into a cartel 5512 case. How hard is it to redrill and retap correctly? What drill size and tap size is used for the 7030? Is there anyone in EU who could do this installation if i send my parts to the person? Regards
