  1. I don't think there is copyright left on any of these dials, then again I'm no lawyer, so what do I know? Love the silver Omani! Back to my Sigma question, do you also have drawings for non-Daytona Sigmas or simple non-Daytona V72 dials? I'm really amazed by the quality of your work, that's exactly what makes this hobby worthwhile and fascinating! Thanks!
  2. That's amazing, I'm really looking forward to these, will there also be Sigma options?
  3. Have you tried contacting him via email? That's how I bought mine a few months ago.
  4. $3000 is far from a good deal. That being said, I would never ever spend $1000 on a rep dial.
  5. Look what finally arrived from the watchmaker's bench... Quick and dirty iPhone pic, will post build details soon.
  6. That two-handed PP is outstanding! Amazing watches Ubi, a true inspiration to us all!
  7. If you already have a 78350 bracelet, I'd suggest you buy a pair of 571 endlinks at an AD. They are able to get them and normally they shouldn't be too expensive - at least speaking in vintage Rolex terms. I had to file off a very small amount from the sides of my phong case lugs in order to accompany the gen endlinks, after that they fit great. Just make sure you are very cautious, small imperfections will stay hidden underneath the bezel anyway, but you will always know that they are there and it's stuff like that tends to drive you crazy. Mine were fine though, so all good!
  8. You might want to consider going gen on that 6263 dial, expensive, but well worth it considering the state of your collection. I also second the insert advice, otherwise great pieces, some real beauties you've got there!
  9. Well, there are some really, really nice high-end Seiko watches. If you have the time you can take a look at them here: Grand-Seiko.com I bought my SARB033 because it closely resembles my favourite Grand Seiko SBGH005 and is basically the poor man's version of the SBGR053. It has a very nice dial, which appears black in most lighting situations, but is really a dark brown. This can have a very nice "tropical" effect in certain light conditions (see picture). I had anti-reflective coating applied on both sides of the crystal and now it can stand up easily to any entry-level Tag or Omega (well as mentioned above, to the last generation models at least - Omega cal. 8500 models are on another level). Here's a picture of mine, Instagram hipster filter applied to emphasize the "tropical" effect. The strap is black in reality, so you can see that the dial in fact is a little lighter in color...
  10. Nothing fancy, but I like it very much . SARB033 on custom made Kaufmann alligator. Edit: Haha, just noticed today is my three year anniversary on this forum. Cheers, guys!
  11. Great work rolojack! The spirit of this forum , the level of knowledge and passion never seizes to amaze me!
  12. You might want to consider a Seiko Spirit (SARB033 for example) until you are able to afford a gen Omega or something like that. They are very good quality and tend to look more expensive than they really are, no real watch lover will judge you for owning one, as they are generally accepted as best bang for the buck entry level-wise. They are easily on par with some of the last generation Aqua Terras or Tags. Just imagine one of your watch-savvy colleagues does notice a flaw and calls you out, I think this would really send the wrong signals. Otherwise I'd suggest you wait until a well modded PO (gen dial and bezel) surfaces in the sales forum... Gen Speedmasters aren't too expensive either, so you might want to look at those as well.
  13. @Janeto: Gen pusher on the left? I really hated my DW pushers, they were poorly manufactured and just felt cheap. Ofrei/ Cousinsuk's while apparently not perfect, are a much better option. Also water-proofing shouldn't be an issue with them, this alone makes them a must in my opinion.
  14. The reason for this mod is that movement the gen uses (Cal. 3120) is 21600 bph, so using a 2846 gives your diver an overall more accurate feel.
  15. I guess the single most sought-after part is a 24-703 SS crown and tube. After that, well for vintage guys, certrainly Tropic crystals, T-19 (5513 Submariner), T-21 (Vintage Daytonas), T-39 (1665) and T-127 (1680 Submariner) crystals. Also, Springbars (no idea of item code), 20mm, 19mm for lug hole models. Personally, I would love to get my hands on a pair of service pushers for 6263/6265 Daytonas (24-302P) and a 5513 service bezel. A 6263 service bezel of course would be awesome, but there's a good aftermarket option at the moment...
  16. I just stumbled upon this very educational video while researching timing machine results. Since I never really understood what the values meant I thought it might be interesting to share. Enjoy!
  17. Rolex 6265 black Sigma dial (step-down). Powered by a Valjoux 726. Gen everything except for case (Phong) and pushers (CousinsUK). Loved it and miss it, went to a good home though .
  18. If a gen movement really fits, I'm really interested in a 1665 stamped 5514 as well, thin case drsd here I come!
  19. Nice!!! Any pictures of your feet first dials?
  20. Congratulations! Nothing beats a Sigma Daytona!
  21. Beautiful watches, love the 5513. Does it have a gen movement or did you cut the feet?
  22. I have a project with him at the moment, everything's fine, he even sent me pictures of the work done so far. He's been very friendly and helpful and replied quickly to every email I sent him, so I don't think this is an issue concerning his general work. I will post a topic describing the build when the watch returns, so everyone can judge for themselves. Can't wait to finally be done with this one and have it on my wrist!
