  1. What a great project! Fingers crossed you find a trustworthy company to produce these, I'll patiently wait in line for mine until then.
  2. M, this thing is amazing! It really is. Your case looks exactly like a well cared for gen. Projects like this are the perfect example for why once you get hooked on this hobby of ours you can never go back to collecting watches in a "normal" fashion. No gen owner/collector will ever be able to appreciate his pieces the way we can! We just know every little detail, simply because we have to in order to be able to build something as accurate and perfect as this.
  3. Stunner, wear it well! Amazing project, beautiful watch!
  4. Just read that the 40mm Ingenieur with Sellita movement is priced at 5850€, they must have completely lost their minds in Schaffhausen!
  5. Great project, have you tried contacting Phong etc. for blanks, maybe they'd be willing to sell some to you...
  6. Here's the only picture I got, not the best, but I hope you get the idea... It's just a very good alligator strap.
  7. Though I doubt the Lange angle (I believe Camille Fournet used to make them), Kaufmann does manufacture straps for various higher end Swiss brands. I own two Kaufmann straps, an ostrich and a custom made black alligator. Both are very good quality, the alligator is excellent. Imo easily on par or even better than all OEM straps I have handled so far at very competetive prices. Go for it, you won't be disappointed!
  8. Milsub. I really like your watch Freddy, beautiful craftsmanship and amazing parts list, definitely one of this forum's pinnacle of builds. Everytime you call it by the name you gave it, I'm drawn back a little, though. It really deserves better.
  9. Well, you could always remove the dial feet and make ingod's dial work with your 2846. That's by far your best option and exactly what many others have done, myself included.
  10. Sorry, I misread. No idea where to get a lollipop seconds hand.
  11. Couldn't you just modify a standard mercedes hour hand i.e. remove the inner lume seperation and have it relumed?
  12. Wow, great mods! Your straps look amazing and the diver fits your wrist perfectly, very cool!
  13. Rolo, does he have the dials in hand already, or did you just send him the designs so he can have them made by his supplier? I'd really be interested in some of these, but detailed pictures of the finished product would be most welcome prior to ordering them...
  14. That's a great watch! I had my eyes on the gen once, which had the dial exchanged for the standard version (original dial included as well), because I loved the display back! Eventually I felt that 36mm was too small for a RO and decided to start saving up for a 15202 (haha in 10 years maybe... ), I love the concept of AP's Foundation though!
  15. Sure, but I think a EU based seller is a great addition nonetheless, one will only have to pay for merchandise he has already in his hands (or so I assume). Even with triangle shipping there have been some problems reported recently in GB for example, though they are now sorted I think. Nevertheless more options are always a good thing imo.
  16. Good thing to know, thanks! I'm really fed up with having to worry about customs seizing my orders here in EU. And about the warranty thing, my experience is that there is no warranty whatsoever, it's essentially the luck of the draw. Who in their right mind would send stuff back to China from inside EU, that's even more stressful than waiting for a watch, because there's absolutely nothing to deny once they know what you sent out...
  17. Haha, I can relate to that, hopefully everything will work out fine, fingers crossed!
  18. Nice one, V, good luck with this project! Any chance for some pictures of its 6263, 6240 brothers in this thread?
  19. Imo this picture shows the main drawback of the newer 8500 POs perfectly, they are way too thick! I loved them on all the press shots when they were released, but when I tried one on I was utterly disappointed by this, otherwise a great watch, but too fat. Mid-size 8500 ATs are the perfect size, amazing movement, accurate and very rugged, great choice for Bond's watch! I really like the blue dial as well, not too dressy, a great addition to any wardrobe, very wearable for any occasion. I can absolutely relate to DC's objection to bigger watches, as far as I know he's a vintage Rolex collector, once you're used to smaller vintage watches, everything above 40-42mm tends to look ridiculously huge...
  20. I think the Sigmas on the dials where the sigma sign is not directly next to the "T" is a little bit off. Imo it should sit a little lower, at least it did on mine. Take a look at the picture of my dial, " o T Swiss T o" sits flush with the end of the minute markers. Otherwise, these dials look amazing, I'm really interested in a silver, a black sigma and a silver Omani as well! Nice!
