I only wish I had. Still [censored] about that. And for you younger guys, just tell them your dad gave it to you. I gave a nice old Sea Dweller that I put together to my favorite nephew who's a fireman and he had several offers to buy it from him from some of the older guys at the firehouse. They were all in awe of his new (old) watch. Thankfully, he didn't try to sell it.

That's why I feel comfortable with mine. It could have been a college graduation present.

In the mid 1970's it was roughly $700 and they couldn't hardly give them away and I bought a $1300 Datejust instead. Damn.........

Nice! I've got a few of those myself. I doubt if you'll find any more cases at that price though. Especially with the gold bezels included. They seem to have gotten up around $400 to 500 including the bezel.. Just the bezels alone are over $200 now from what I've been seeing.

Josh guarantees delivery or he replaces it anyway.

We'll see about that after the conservatives take control of the vagina.

My son is in his early 30's and he's seen all my watches displayed in my office and has never mentioned anything about any of them. Not even a comment on "why so many watches, Dad". He wears a gen mid priced quartz of a somewhat well known but forgettable brand. I guess my point is, don't be surprised is your son grows up and has no interest in your watches, either gen or rep.

I'm no expert but it only seems logical the with the escape wheels that different, the pallet forks would also be different and not interchangeable. I'd try looking up the part numbers from the ETA documents and seeing if the have different part numbers.

He probably did as you asked and adjusted it in face down position to 5 seconds of less. That unfortunately doesn't mean you'll get that accuracy in real life. That's why COSC is done in 5 positions over 15 days.with greatest variation of no more than 10 seconds. And also, you are expecting COSC timing out of a non-COSC timepiece. You can test in face up or face down and get great results and then go to crown down get 30 second or more variations. When I regulate a watch I attempt to average out the variations and then put it on a winder or wear it for a few days. Then do another final regulation based on real life. Even then I wouldn't expect to get your standards on most movements. If I did it would just be lucky.

First thing comes to mind is why service a movement that's consistently doing +2 seconds a day?

Fitting genuine insert on upo 45mm guide (picture update)

That JB Weld may be a little overkill. You'll never be able to get if off again without serious damage to something. -
The Vietnamese have been knocking off Rolexes that are so good they get sold as gens to tourists ever since the American forces left behind a lot of gens back in the 60's and 70's.They can turn a simple DJ movement into a $10,000 Sub that is indistinguishable from what I've read and heard. Just like lots of guys here on this forum are making them. The only question would be whether or not these "one offs" are considered part of the bet. What about those 1:1 Cartier Santos watches that are supposedly made with gen parts that Puretime sells for $1600 or $2800? Do they count. Or how about the guy over on RWGboard who had a 18k Rolex Presidential solid gold case made in Hong Kong? It was mighty damn perfect and all it needed was a gen movement to be 100%.

They are currently available.

I kind of remember reading somewhere that you have to use the rep gasket rather than the gen gasket. Maybe you can do a search or one of the experts can chime in. A crystal press is very cheap, around $10 as I recall. If you have a Harbor Freight store near you, they sell them.

WTF is wrong with people these days???

That was a nice first post. I'll bet it's because of him that Josh lost his PP account this time.

You'd be a great "sluut novel" writer Nanuq. Just a little more of the "heaving breasts glistened and her throbbing thighs moved ever so slowly". Nice looking watch, btw.
-
You do understand this is a replica watch forum, not a gen forum?
-
What he's saying is, there are no grooves in the case. Filing down the movement ring wouldn't solve that problem.

Being you joined today and are selling something on your first post, it might be nice to post a picture of the item tagged with your user name and today's date. Too much monkey business going on lately with new sellers.

If you get the insert out you can probably get the bezel off easier. If it's got the bent spring wire holding it you'll be able to get to it and work it out of the way.

Remember that the first tracking information is that the shipper had electronically notified EMS of a shipment. If it doesn't say that it has been accepted by the shipper, it means that it hasn't actually been physically picked up. Lot's of dealers automatically assign a shipping number, often before they even have the watch packaged. So, what does the EMS site actually say.

Hmmm. Never knew the V1 is "rare". I guess that's a good thing. Anyway I just happen to have a picture of my V1 with the regular noob bracelet and had to take a closer look after finding this thread again. I really can't see anything that I would want to change on my sel's. There's not a micron of wiggle room between the lugs and the sel's. Is there something I'm missing that's not right? I never got into the big worry that every one else does over sels and don't know the fine details. They sit just enough under the lugs to catch your finger nail on if you rub across them.

SD bracelets have polished sides on the links. Subs don't. And the Noob bracelets on the SSD were pretty damn nice I thought.
