  1. Americans need weapons, I agree 100%. We should be armed! I'm armed! I'm not talking about war, or 70 years ago. Today, in America, does anyone really need an automatic weapon? I'm not talking automatic hand guns, You know what i mean.
  2. Name one reason any american citizen needs an automatic rifle or machine gun. There is no need for that kind of firepower even for the police. I'm all for guns, just remove the ones that can fire 100 rounds a minute. If no one gets them, neither do the bad guys. Of course there's the black market.
  3. I never tell people I'm wearing a fake. But if they ask, I say yes, 100% of the time. Hell, sometimes I have to remind myself it's a fake. LOL
  4. On a yuki you can use some gen parts. Calendar wheels and maybe a stem. On the Sa nothing but a calendar wheel. Stems will not fit and neither will anything else. I had one with a broken balance staff. Tried a gen, it was way off.
  5. No amount is to much. The cost of the frankens is determined by the parts that are used. Take a franken datejust. Gen case, a nice one, is $300 Most of the time it will come with a crystal that can be polished, if not, gen crystal is $85- $120. Gen bezel is $350- $60, depending on white gold or stainless. Crown is $85, tudor hands are $41 An open 69 dwo is $44. Now, which movement? Swiss is $230-$250 for a fresh genuine. Sa 3135 is $235 Nice stainless bracelet is $650. Add $175 labor. That's it. So, now you have a really nice franken for $1900. You can buy a full gen for around $2850. A gen 3135 movement is around $1500. Subtract that from the price of the watch, it leaves $1350. That's less than you have in the franlen. But, your franken is complete, and you have no movement in your gen. I think now it comes down to just how much fun do you want to have. Anyone can go buy a gen ready to go. Building it is way more fun. If for no other reason than to see how gen you can make it look. Most people that build a franken can afford a gen with no problem, but why not save some money. This is a build of an old style datejust. When you get into the new style, the price difference is much greater. A new style franken and a new style datejust have a gap of at least $4000. That is significant.
  6. Yes, parts for the SA 3135 are not available. I bought 8 and could not get any extra stems. As for the 28xx-2, there are many parts available. Nearly all parts interchange except the center wheel. The asian centerwheel will fit the gen28xx-2 movement, the gen will not fit the asian movement. Inside the center post on the gen baseplate, is a shoulder for the center wheel to rest against. That holds it above the mainspring tub.The asian model has a spacer on the top of the center wheel to hold it in place. Then gen will not work on the asian because it goes up to far. No shoulder for it to rest against. Best movement for datejust or daydate, is a swiss, late model purchased from a legitimate dealer. It's sweet!!
  7. What ssteel said. The 2824 uses a spring washer over the hour wheel. With out it, the hour wheel will slip up and out of position. Very simple fix.
  8. OMG that's funny. Worst I've ever seen
  9. You cannot mention rep on a gen forum, PERIOD!!!!
  10. One of the big reasons is because they use rep everything. Not to much care about the details. That's one of the reasons BK is more, he alighn's the dwo
  11. Why is the sun still shining? LOL
  12. It is correct. The 24-600 takes the large tube. The 24-603 takes the small tube. Ck your watch, it most likely has the small tube, which means your 24-603 will fit. However, If it is the large tube, you can only use the old 24-600 crown. You can go up in size with your case tube, but you cannot go down. That said, I have repaired ladies cases, using a large case tube. Here is how I did it. I drilled the ladies case, which has a small case tube, larger to fit a large case tube. I installed the large case tube. I used loctite to seal it in the case. Once it was installed, I then tapped the case tube with a ladies tap. After I tapped it, I cut the case tube flush with case, cleaned it up and put a small taper in it, and installed the small tube. It was a water tight fit. I don't recommend it, unless it's not repairable any other way. It was very nerve wrecking on the ladies gold case. A couple of AD's in town said it was not repairable. It was scary doing it for the first time. But, it worked and saved a $2500 case. You really couldn't tell anything had been done. I guess I was lucky.
  13. yes, 2879 is correct. Slow beat, 21,600, non hacking, and stem lines up prefect. Standard with Tall cannon pinnon, gives perfect hand stack
  14. warren buffet would be proud. But, he would want to know how much profit was in it. LOL
  15. On the add it has report this item. click it It could be a gen stainless case that's been plated
  16. The 40 is 228238. The 40mm rep case is not quite 40. They do have the new bezel out, but the bracelet has not yet been made. They use the 118239 bracelet. They are the same except for the end piece.
  17. Not sure what you are looking for. I think google specific dial info. You will get info on one dial at a time.
  18. I have entertained the idea of building datejust with an sa3135 movement. I have had a ym with one in it for around 5 years. Honestly, It's been trouble free. I ordered several sa 3135 movements to use in both the old style dj and the new style. It will keep the price of the build about the same as a swiss. I have read about some complaints with the movement. I personally have had good luck with them. Do you think the latest version is better than those made 4 or 5 years ago. I do. But your opinion is welcome. Here is one next to a gen.
