  1. I've been travelling from the EU to both the US and Canada wearing a rep on my wrist without any hassle - in fact I even got compliments from the customs for my IWC 3717 v1! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

However, within EU to a recent RWG GTG with a full watch box I actualy did have a small incident.. Me and my travel companion (Bionic Tim) had to somewhat butter up the airport security gal (who was a bit suspicious) @ Copenhagen Airport on the way out, but apart from that it was all gooooood! We even had 3 more pieces on our way home!

To sum it all up: I wouldn't worry too much about what's on your wrist while travelling..

    Sounds like fun ;)

  2. This is a topic which has been on my mind a bit lately as well. In the past, I've worn reps through Japanese and Spanish customs with no issues at either place, but I do have concerns. While I understand that customs have the power to remove contraband from people, my question is: Ignoring anything in carryon or regular baggage, because of course, traveling with a case-full of reps is asking for trouble :whistling:, how likely is it that customs in Country X are actually going to remove the wristwatch a person is wearing? I know rep goods are illegal in France and Italy, but do they just clampdown on mail imports, or are passenger's personal garments subject to the same scrutiny and confiscatability? (Like my new word? :thumbsupsmileyanim: ) Depending on the outcome/feedback, I might just get one of those suicide bomber Casios to wear in such countries :)

  3. My girlfriend is in love with Ben Howard but its impossible to get his stuff here. Play.com is issuing signed copies of his new album to be released in October. I live in the bonus and they wont ship.

So.... I am hoping someone here can help a brother out. Obviously I would pay for any costs involved, the cd is £9

Let me know when it's released, and I'll see what I can do :good:

  4. The thing Is T that wasnt his kid and those definately were not slaps. That MF was putting the hammer down on a kid half his size. The father also set this whole backyard brawl thing up. Lets hope a lttle RR In the pen shows him what It's like to be on the bottom. ;)

Ahhhh, I was watching it with the speakers turned off, so when it said 'dad' and 'kid', I figured they were meaning his kid, not someone elses, so yeah, hopefully he'll find some new buddies when it comes to shower time... :whistling:

On the other hand, I'm also a big believer in the philosophy that if some punk thinks they're man enough to mouth off to someone, they have to be man enough to deal with the consequences, and I'll bet the kid's learned a lesson he won't forget in a hurry... :whistling: As you say, pure White Trash... Gotta love it :victory:

  5. Awesome, thanks. What would I use for a case? I don't believe Tudor watches had crown guards like Rolex's, unless I'm horribly mistaken...

Also, my dream is to own a real PVD Rolex. I think they're very unique and understated.

Mine isn't PVD, it's a Camden Market plastic sub with a modified Rolex dial fixed to the quartz movement with double-sided tape :victory: I built it myself for a chuckle, but found I really enjoyed wearing it, as it reminds me not to take life too seriously :) I also wear it while tattooing, so the field from the machine can't magnetize an automatic movement :bangin: As far as I know, Tudor cases're just the same as the Rolex ones :)

There're good PVD Rolex reps available, the real ones really just aren't worth the price-tag

  6. Thanks for the advice :thumbsupsmileyanim: I have to admit, I love my steel bracelets, though. I used to do a lot of scale modelling and I was pretty good at faking naturalistic weathering. I might even be able to make it look like there's real dirt and dust stuck in the strap using pigment powders...

Definately going to look into this. I looked up some pics of the real double-red SD, it seems to be a very accurate replica for the money. Until next month, I'm going to try and learn as much as I can about weathering/ageing reps and then make my final decision.

Any time :drinks: I have to admit, I'm the same, and prefer steel bracelets over the leather, as it means I don't have to worry about the watch getting wet :victory: I just thought I'd suggest fat-straps as a way of blending a watch more into 'student fashion' so it'd be a bit inconspicuous and draw less attention  Definitely sounds like you've got the skills to do the appropriate aging, so I'll be keen to see what you come up with :) I would advise against faking the dirt on the strap though, real dirt would suffice  It took me a while to warm up to the DRSD, but I now have plans to buy one myself, so definitely looking forward to seeing what you can do with one of those :good:
