  1. Pretty hard to just loose the movement clamps and turn the movement. Don't forget there's a crown and stem keeping it from turning. Hard to tell from the pic but is the date centered in the window? It was probably just put together wonky or the dial feet are bent a little. Or they might have turned the dial slightly to get the date lined up in the window. Pretty easy to fix either way but you might have to take it apart.
  2. Well I received my BP sub today via Sead. Overall impression is pretty good. Not bad for $155 watch. Dial is nice and date wheel is very centered. The "AR cyclops" is pretty lame though. It's got a bit of a blue tint to it but definitely no black hole effect like the gen. It doesn't really do much of anything at all. I was expecting a lot more and I would have gladly paid extra to have it correct. It's a huge feature on these new ceramic Rolexs that they are failing to replicate. The case and bezel are nice and the crown is ok. The bracket is pretty good and my only complaint about the clasp is that the glued/soldered on rolex cornet is WAY off center on the flip lock. That seems to be a weak point in a lot of rolex reps. Not sure why they have so much trouble centering the crown on the clasp. Mine is way off and I'll probably have to replace the clasp because it's too far off center to live with. I'll see if I can find a noob clasp somewhere. I've seen some guys puttin gen crystals into these watches. Does anyone know if a gen crystal will fit into the BP factory rep?
  3. I'm am going to try printing some of these out and see how it looks. Might need to get a new printer first though. Mine kinda sucks. I guess I could go to a printing place with the file and get them to make a bunch for me...
  4. I just ordered one of these date wheel tools. I have a polex Pete flat 3 date wheel to install onto an eta movement. We'll see how it works!
  5. One day I'm going to have to build a zenith powered Daytona. I bought one of the first seconds at 6 reps that came out and it worked for about 2 days and then the movement failed. The seconds at 9 Daytona subdial spacing is WAY off and I would never buy a rep of one. You can tell it's a fake from 20 feet away. You won't be happy with it. I don't know how the new Asian sec @ 6 movements are... Have they improved at all in the past couple years? I built a v23 6263 Daytona a couple years ago and never even wear it. I'd love to build a 16520 for a daily beater tho if I had the extra cash.
  6. I'm not really into these new shiny sapphire crystal ceramic Rolex's, but I went and ordered a BP from Sead the other day. We'll see how it looks when it arrives. I've been holding off for one with proper AR on the cyclops. I'll swap on a Noob factory clasp if I have to but I'm sure the BP will be fine after a few adjustments and some massaging. I shall report back with my findings.
  7. I'd be interested in a set of these 702's also.
  8. Cool man. Nice dial. I wish I could find one of those for a decent price. Can't wait to see it all together.
  9. Man U are brave. I sure wouldn't try that myself. Going to be a sweet movement when you get it finished!
  10. I honestly would have slapped him in the side of the head and taken my watch back. Looks like he screwed up your keyless works and banging it on the desk? I would have flipped out on him. I admire your patience. Dizz.
  11. I would be interested in one. My 1680's movement just locked up so its time to tear into it again and do some mods.
  12. Nice work. I agree those cheap bracelets just are so innacurate. Get a folded Yuki on there and you'll be set.
  13. I also just came back to have another look. This is truely a beautifull 1665. I absolutey love the patina dial and hands. Good work!
  14. The old MBW1680 was actually molded after a 5513. The diameter of the 5513 rehaut is slighty smaller (maybe 1mm) than a 1680 and thats why a gen 1680 dial wont fit the MBW without modification. Changing your MBW1680 to a 5513 is as simple as swapping out the dial and crystal, resulting in a "more correct" watch.
  15. My gen T-39 superdome on my MBW1665 passed to 660ft on a pressure test. I didnt bother going any further than that. My watches never see anything more than showering, hand washing or the occasional swim. I would have no problem putting on a good aftermarket t-39 onto you gen 1665 Nanuq. It might not go to 2000ft but I bet you can get "Submariner depths" out of it no problem. Good enought for playing in the snow up north anyways!
  16. Lookin good brotha!!! Very nice watch! One day I plan to get a better dial for mine. I have the OLD double red MBW dial, but I want to switch to a great white patina dial. Zig sure does some nice custom work! cheers
  17. Who would send a watch or anything of value without at least return address info and name on the package? Thats just asking to lose it in the mail.... just sayin.
  18. Watch looks pretty good. I would get a better bracelet though. Thats the only thing holding it back. If you want a rivet, then get one from Yuki. They are very close to gen. That watch should really be on a folded bracelet. Get one from josh for $55 of whatever they are and swap on a nice fliplock clasp and you will have a decent 9315 bracelet. dizz
  19. I dont really agree with this VRF post. A good aftermarket crystal will pass a pressure test. I have done it many times with my watchmaker friend and his rolex pressure testers. Plexiglass is plexiglass. As long as its a proper spec crystal and fit the watch, it will pass pressure test. dizz
  20. Wow impressive. There have been some big advances in the vintage world here in the last couple months! Good work my friend!
  21. Does anyone have pictures of the 16800 case and its rehaut if they still offer it.
  22. Hey buddy Let me know when you get a couple of these in stock. I would like to try one out right away. I have a gen 1680 dial looking for a new home The hotrods and dirtbikes are put away for the winter, so Its time to play with the vintage Rolex's again
  23. Very cool! Im going to upgrade my account and buy some stickers!!! I need a bunch of these!
  24. Very nice Double red. I love the look of it!
