  1. ASIAN GMT movement looks like an eta clone base to me. wouldnt get too excited unfortunately
  2. i did exactly that on an mbw bracelet. also used a dremel to cut a line in the end link connector. the mbw is still far from perfect but a bit closer
  3. eta does make a setting lever that fits all ETA 28xx models that is wind and time setting only, omitting the date pos.
  4. the old MBWs were never good. so much incorrect. the endlink connector doesnt have the bend or fit 2mm bars, the side links are polished, the mid links are too thin compared to the gen, the clasp has wrong half size adjustment holes, the clasp is basically a 93250 stamped 93150. the cartel bracelet is better but the end link stamping (93150) is too large, the endlink bend should be a solid piece with a dent in the middle but its just a folded over piece of thin metal that is not closed, the clasp crown stamping is too large and not refined enough, the divers extension 'S' is stamped on the wrong side on either the mbw or the cartel, i dont remember which
  5. there are no good rep clasps youd have to get a gen clasp, with 93150 stamped ends and build the rest with rep links. wso end links seem decent, i dont know if they sell 585's tho. clasp + 93150 ends youre probably looking at no less than $450
  6. the 3186 looks like a modified eta clone to me. the escapement bridge looks like the ones they had in those 2836 clones (NOT the Yuki ones) that were made to look like the gen rolex 3135 ones. modified gen eta 2836's that had correct hand stacks existed many years ago from dealers, but no, they were not reliable in the long run due to the modification. is this new 3186 sporting a different modification than before making it reliable? dont know. if i had to guess i'd probably say not if it is indeed based on an eta movement, which it looks to be. anyone else see something different?
  7. where specifically in Canada are you located? is the JF an asian 7750? lots of watchmakers dont want to be bothered with those
  8. im pretty sure its a different part number. one ends in 10 one ends in 8. my memories fuzzy on that, i havnt built a vintage sub or sd in years, but i remember ordering different parts. i think you can use the same case back gasket but for the retaining ring but it doesnt fit perfectly
  9. the yuki one is probably the better of the two. best chance is to find a service lumi gen. all others are pretty expensive these days
  10. this is all you need https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g293916-d302770-Reviews-The_Sukhothai_Bangkok-Bangkok.html
  11. i havnt seen a white one either. a couple other things that are strange about it though, the placement of the logo seems to be too high as other examples have the hands originating from the middle of the stars and the logo seems to have been printed over top of the present 'superlative chronometer' line of text, whereas the other dials i believe came directly from rolex with that block of text missing in order to have the printed logo with no text beneath it. some questions that should probably be answered if you want an accurate value for the piece.
