  1. ISSUE RESOLVED!!!! FINALLY!

Pressed the pallet fork shaft down slightly to raise the pallet fork to the impulse stone, as the impulse stone was as low as it could go.

    Hi Mike,

I'm kinda having the same problem. I Received a 7750 which wouldn't run. Traced the problem back to the pallet fork (PF). Switched it out and in runs like a champ. But....I'm trying to understand the problem with the original PF.

The original PF had a loose pallet stone so I glued it back in. After that it just wouldn't give enough 'momentum' to the impuls jewel making the balance swing like say only 10 degrees. I inspected the PF with a microscope and compared it to a new 7750 PF and I could not see any differences. Can you explain the thing you did above? Perhaps it's the same problem with mine broken PF.

    Thanks!

    Mark

  2. Well, it wás the friction spring! It was not providing enough upwards tension (rotor side). Therefor the oscillating pinion teeth weren't engaging properly and the movement was jerky. You were right on the money Mike.

Hopefully this post will provide some helpfull information in future searches ;)

@ Bike Mike thanks for your contribution. Nice to know I can always count on your usefull insights!

  3. Back to the original subject, shipping lines are very "itchy" about containers with a customs declaration: "Small metallic parts" ;-)

However, some of them get through sometimes, through points of entry where controls are not very strickt or bribes are a common practice.

Then they just have to re-assembly the product again somewhere, often combining parts from several containers.

And of course, quite a number of guns comes from eastern Europe/Russia "all ground".

Well it's a simple thought. I received dozens of iligal watches through Fedex. How big is the chance a hand gun e.g. Glock gets intercepted by customs. For instance what if I would ask a dear friend of mine in the States to send me a gun?..... :whistling:

  4. I received a Navy with the 7750 (28.800) movement. Chrono second hand ran smooth. Gave it a service, chrono second hand runs jerky :g:

So I changed the clutch, chronograph wheel and oscillating pinion to ETA, just to be sure...... still jerky :black_eye:

Running seconds are smooth BTW so the train gear is okay.

So now I think it perhaps has something to do with friction wheel. What to you guys think?

    Thanks!

  5. It could very well be the rotor isn't meshing well with the reverse wheels. Do the 2 small wheels turn when you move the rotor? Hoe does it feel when you turn the rotor? Any resistance? If you tighten the rotor screw while the gear teeth ain't meshing well you could end up destroying the reversing wheels so be carefull. Make sure the teeth mesh before you tighten the screw.
