  1. Got it from a local dealer here in Australia, excellent price too with over 30% off retail/list.

Sold it soon after for other endeavors for a few reasons, on being the dial was too complicated for my bad eyes to read easily and the lume was very dim at night.

It is a fine and beautiful watch, with a top of the line movement, but just did not suit me at the time.

  2. What's the deal with this MBW watch - every person that posts the pictures on all of the boards does not tell what dealer or any details. How cool is that? Not very! It's almost like they are trying to generate a buzz (may have succeeded) in order to get the price up for these.

As for this piece being over $2k? Puuulllllease- that has to be a joke! I can buy a ton of gen watches with properly lubed ETA movements that will last a lifetime longer than that watch

It is a joke... Look at some of these pics one owner of this fine, limited time piece is posting, I think soon, he may have a surprise...

No offence to the humble owners of this watch, but I am now on a crusade to make this watch available to EVERYONE who wants one... More to come... 109886-24166.gif

  3. So in fact that the MBW's are Frakens? No they are not, even the dials are not genuine Singer based, as genuine Singer stamps look different. The only thing that makes vintage MBW's better than others is the fact that the cases accept gen parts - but they don't come with gen parts already from the factory...

Rep Radiomir cases accept genuine Unitas movements... I think you distinction above applies to Rolex only for MBW cases.

I would really like to know how much these MBW Militares were really purchased for.

  4. Maria never was and is no replica maker.

So, are you saying this watch is NOT from Maria's Best Watch?

Nice watch, great dial/hand combination and design....

Price?? :Jumpy: $2000 for a $50 replica case and a $20-60 (depending on the option you choose) movement is abominable and blasphemy IMO, but if he can get it, what the hey :whistling: It's a free world.

If it REALLY is that limited, and REALLY costs that much, I say bring on the reps, they'll sell like hotcakes at a couple hundred bucks a whack....

    Davidsen, where are you??? ;)

  5. I don't believe for a minute they cost anywhere near two grand. You can put whatever RRP you like on a sold-out watch. :)

I'd say it cost well under a grand, but no-one's confirming that either way. :D

Yes, the shroud of secrecy around this watch is disheartening... WTF?? :bangin::bangin:

For me, this watch is worth no more than $350, limited or not. Any dealers care to get this repped? It'll sell well :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  6. Yesterday I was having some work done at the car dealer. A blonde

woman came in and asked for a seven-hundred-ten.

They all looked at each other, and the Mechanic asked, "What is a

    seven-hundred-ten?"

She replied, "You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine.

lost it and need a new one. It had always been there."

The mechanic gave the woman a piece of paper and a pen and asked her

to draw what the piece looked like. She drew a circle and in the middle

    of it wrote 710.

He then took her over to another car which had the hood up and asked,

"Is there a 710 on this car?" She pointed and said, "Of course, it's

    right there."

  7. Beautiful watch Bazz :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I've fallen in love with the PVDs, got a 195a little while back from Davidsen and just a few minutes ago ordered a PAM 026.. An OEM PreV cognac strap with PVD buckle is in the mail as well :-)

    Wear it well!!! :yu:

  8. I went through a search on this here in Australia late last year....

I beagan talking to optical shops here around Australia, with no luck, they just looked at me funny, sort of like how a dog looks at you when you do something they don't understand

So... went on to a well known scientific research company here and tried to drill down into a department that specializes in optics... got a lot of good information and finally reached the company that does most of the optical coating for the country. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Talked to the owner there, nice guy and all.... But got that "Never saw one of those before" feeling from him, but he said he would "Give it a go".

Sent a 196 crystal to him, waited a few weeks, after a few phone calls, he informed me that they didn't have the right die to hold the crystal, so he sent it back...

Now I'm not sure what kind of die they'd need to hold the crystal during the process, but I'd be willing to bet that it wouldn't have to be too high tech, probably just a hole in a piece of aluminum with a slightly larger hole in it to place the crystal. It would probably be pretty easy to make

I didn't pursue it much further at the time due to time constraints, but I'm about to give it another try when I have some time. Hopefully this time it may work :victory:
