  1. Looks good to me. Too bad about the copper movement retainer ring. From what I can see double AR so that's good. I think it will carry a genuine ETA so my guess it will cost around $280.-

Has a good case back with the correct engravings (+ anti-counterfeit symbol) and serial# on the lug.

Damn those holidays. If I only had the funds...

  2. I want to do something back for this great place therefore I'm offering Free movement decals!

I made these almost perfect decals some time ago and forgot all about them. So I decided to give them away.

As you're likely to mess one up they will be shipped per 2.

Therefore I have 17 x 2 decals ready for shipment.

    What's the catch?

*You have to donate $10 (USD) to the RWG December server rent (click)

*The first 17 people that send (PM) me a print screen of the completed transaction by PayPal will get a pair.

*I will not give states updates on how much decals are left. You will know if you send me your print screen.

*If you send me your print screen and all the decals are gone you're tough out of luck..... but you did a good deed for RWG ;)

*Decals will be shipped worldwide on my own cost so it will be by regular air mail.

*If decals get lost during shipment.... you guessed it, you're though out of luck ;)

    Good luck!

    Some pics.

-Please know that the true colour is somewhat different from you're screen colour (read: more true to the real deal).

-They look kind a bold but know that these are extreme close ups. Once applied on the movement they look bang on!

  3. I like to think I am in touch with my feminine side................................ Well thats what my boyfriend tells me anyway ;)

Off topic but in relation to my recent 'Avatar thread' judging from your avatar I never thought you would be a bad ass

  4. woo hoo...i figured it out... :thumbsupsmileyanim: (with your guys' help, of course)

the top pivot (pin) broke off in the jewel...i couldn't see it at first and i thought i checked the top pivot - but i guess i didn't...just ordered another escape wheel...

any advice for getting the broken pivot out of the jewel?... :g:

Glad you figured it out! Use the new escape wheel to push the broken part out or remove the bridge and give it a light tap.

  5. Make sure to also check the top pivot (pin) of the escape wheel. This is the part that usually breaks as it is longer ergo more fragile. If this part broke this could also lead to the escape wheel moving around. The play means one of the pivots isn't located in one of the jewels properly..

You could try fastening the screws of the bridge without the gears in place (so no pivots can break) and look how the bridge reacts. Does it move lower? Than one of the pivots wasn't located okay and thus preventing the bridge from lowering to it's correct height. It could very well be one of the other gears isn't seated correctly.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.

  6. It could very well be the pin already broke off. It also happens to me from time to time and I serviced dozens. It is really fragile and thinner than a hair.... inspect it with a 10x loupe. If not, you just need some more patience and handiniss.

It is a lot easier to work on the gears with the balance removed. It's the first thing I remove when I start working on a movement. But it takes a lot of skills to handle a balance. If you've never done it before you run the risk of damaging the hair spring and then you can really say $#*@&

Don't want to be an ass but watchmaking isn't a profession for nothing, it takes a lot of skills and knowledge. I know this forum often makes us think we can do everything ourselves ... we can't ;)
