  1. I think I found a pretty cool bracelet on eBay in my search for something decent but moderately priced. I found this bracelet on eBay that piqued my interest. It was labeled as an aftermarket replacement bracelet from ETX. The last link and endlinks are stamped ETX where thy typical Rolex references would be. This confused me a bit but the clasp looked to me like it was obviously authentic Rolex even though the seller had marked the whole bracelet as aftermarket. After coming back to the sale a few times it was tempting. The sides were brushed and the endlinks looked exactly like 580s minus the stamp. I could see that he had listed the bracelet at $150 OBO, so I said screw it and offered him $100, he went for it. So it arrived yesterday and I think I scored something pretty sweet. The links and endlinks are definitely aftermarket, but very heavy and very smooth with nice smooth edges. Lightyears ahead of any rep bracelet. And the clasp, to me looks gen. I don't see why a company who bothered to brand their links ETX would then make a replica clasp and it is definitely not like any rep clasp I have. It is fairly aged and rebrushed to the point where the coronet has lost some of its definition, but I think it's cool and matches the age of the watch. For $100 I'm not complaining, it's only about $25 more then Yuki and the clasp alone is worth probably $150 if it is gen. I did have to borrow the divers extension and one link from my cartel bracelet as it was a touch too small and the divers extension that came with the ETX links was again not branded. That further makes me think the clasp is gen. Anyway, here are some pics. Tell me what you guys think.
  2. Hey guys, I got this from a m2m sale on a different forum and need help with what type of movement is in this little guy. The previous own only knew that it was "Noob best edition 2014" and the original price was $378. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm terrible when it comes to identifying movements.
  3. Hi Gents ! For those of you interested in 50'Subs and their evolution, here are few shots borrowed from P. STAHL Instagram, about one of his recent acquisition : a beautiful military version of our beloved Ref. 6538. Take a look to that bezel, "prototype-lly" made to be even easier turning around in deep water missions for the MOD divers. Big crown, "german silver" Bezel and Red Depth dial... Cheers!
  4. Can someone please help me identify this watch? I picked it up on CL today for $200. Obviously I know it's a 50th anniversary; but can someone with a keen eye maybe provide some insight on what factory makes this watch? And version? I've never seen this movement before either. I was thinking it was a 21J? (Doesn't tick as smooth as my other watch which has a clone ETA. Is this rep any good? Worth modding? Thanks guys.
  5. This is the v6 Noob sub (NOY the v6S), apparently the same as the v5 but with an upgraded dial. This one runs an A2836. I picked it up from Toro in his pre-CNY clearance sale for about $250. First things first this is a really, really nice watch. Out of the box it looks and feels genuine, it's as solidly built and smooth as my genuine TAG Aquaracer, with the exception of the rotor which is a little noisy. The dial is stunning, with colour changing from dark to light green and sparkling as the light catches it. The ceramic bezel also looks good although the colour seems a little washed out compared to the dial. I have no idea what a real one looks like but this looks stunning. The bracelet is very well made and solid feeling. One link had a fouled screw, which I simply removed - and I always have plenty of spares. There is the tiniest of SEL gaps which is well within my tolerance and better than some I have seen. Otherwise all seems in order. Markers look straight to me, date wheel looks nicely centred and the pearl is good to my eyes. I'd definitely a step up from my last Hulk, which was one of Reg's from a while ago and which had the old white numbers (now they are platinum, lovely!) and a 21J movement instead of the asian 2836 in this one. It's a grade A, which is good news. Not as good as AAA but still worthy! And it ha a bezel protector on it with N for Noob on it! Plenty of protective plastic, over every single edge and every single surfacePearl and triangle are well alignedNot had a platinum numbers model before. These are actually better finished than the ones in my genuine TAGThe crown is really crisp and well finishedNew dial with 'correct' 300 m spacing (Apparently, I can't tell the difference...)Date wheel alignment is the best I have had. Cyclops is really nice, easier to read than others I have had, maybe the AR coating? And a wristy:
  6. New Submariners from the noob maker v6s Completely new construction case, new bracelet, this time focusing more on the details. Dial painting remains same. 1 Updated bezel engravement, much better than the v6, the color was too dark silver, now is more light 2 The pearl on the bezel is thinner than on the v6, much more closer to the gen 3 Bracelet SEL fitting better than V6, before the was a tiny space, not a perfect fit like now 4 Clasp LOGO much more better 5 Case parts now can fit gen bezel, for SA3135 version can fit gen movement, and dial too bezel pearl crystal has more angle and fit in more thinner steel ring. For the GREEN one there is a new dial with SUM finishing 6 Bezel pearl crystal has more angle and fit in more thinner steel ring 8 Rehaut is more all aligner, closer to perfection and more deeply engraved , also correct font match same as the gen 9 Inside the LUG all markers are engraved same as the gen, not by laser as before. 10 SA3135 is amazing, all correct position adjusting time and date works smooth Watches will be available for shipping shortly after the chinese new year holidays
  7. Hi guys, I need one of this strap for my Yachtmaster in a reptile finish. I dont wanna pay the price for a Everest strap (220 plus shipping). Maybe you can help me with a source pls. I need these typical nipples to install my Rolex clasp. Thank u! Bye Mecko
  8. Okay - Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this as I'm not technically selling anything, just exploring the waters to see if there are any interested parties in taking over my build.. Back in the early summer when the Rolex Tempus Machina Ref 216A build popped up for about $25k (with only 50 being made) I got really excited. This homage to the original 6538 with a gilt dial, red triangle, and no-CG case looks AMAZING. ( www.tempus-machina.com ) I commissioned PBDad to build me a watch to be as close as possible to that creation. He was immediately excited and despite several others showing interest to him, to my knowledge, he's only building mine for now making it the only "rep" that will be out there of this amazing homage. He's been working on it since June 2015 and is likely going to be finished with it within the next 30-90 days. It will be using a BK Sub-C as a base, will feature the same case style as his HS01 Build (No CG, beautiful chamfers etc) and is having a custom one-off gilt dial made with appropriate red-depth rating, a custom one-off domed crystal, and a custom one-off bezel assembly (coin-teeth edge) to go with the custom ceramic insert with red triangle. He charged about $1400 for his HS01 so this is in line with that price given it requires a bit more work. All in all I was quoted $1500-1800 depending on how much these custom parts are going to run me. He's still finalizing the bezel assembly and the dial. I am into the build $900 at this point. I'm posting to see if anyone has interest in assuming my position in it as something has come up and I need to free up the funds. I'll gladly discount the amount I'm in from $900 to $800 to give someone a discount beyond the 7 months I've waited thus far. Someone is going to have an amazing creation this spring. If you have interest in discussing the above, reach out to me via PM and I can provide emails from PBDad showing you where it's at, and a paypal transaction copy to show the funds that have been sent to him thus far. Thanks~

  10. My latest and greatest one and a watch I'd always admired perhaps from watching magnum pi as a kid. Lol These are pics from the builder and Italian enthusiast and his watchsmith. 11. Hey guys, I am possibly going to do one or two light builds of the 1675. I have two different stock reps in transit. I know there is always talk of crownguards amongst the fora and while I am not going to be too picky, I'm just curious why I am seeing what seems like two different kinds of CG shapes on gens. Was it just one of the many differences between production years, or have some been so polished down they inevitably change shape? Sorry if this is a common question but I am just starting my journey into vintage land. Style 1: Style 2:
  12. So finally after searching, searching and more searching I stumbled across this beauty, The Rolex Daytona 6239 (by DW) and bought it...in a heartbeat. I bought just the head as I thought the GEN rivet I will find one day for sure. But I wanted it to mount this icon on a Bulang & Sons 19/16 vintage leather strap. And I think the end result is really nice and it is also very comfortable to wear. The seller I bought it from also informed about a website detailing more about this particular build `Daytona small dial` http://www.hqmilton.com/watches/rolex_daytona_6239_black_dial_with_early_small_daytona_with_white_and_silve/ I especially like the fact that it is not screaming Daytona or PN or anything like `hey look at me`...but that is what I feel is so attractive about this particular dial. The subtle `Rolex Cosmograph Daytona` just between center of the watch and the coronet. What I also like about this build is that the hand wind movement allows for a very flat build (guess as per gen looking at the dimensions). The watch has wear on it just like you would expect but not too much. And the engraving finishes it off just right. Not fully noticeable even when wearing a leather strap. So now on to the pics It all started with the watch head ....and even without a strap it is beautiful But I knew I had to get a nice Bulang & Sons leathers strap for this beauty...
  13. Handsets seem to be an issue in any of my parts lists lately... Anyone could kindly point me to a nice genuine like 1655 handset for a 21j ? Rafflestime and Yuki have both longer minute hand and shorter GMT hand than the gen ones. Thank you, guys.
  14. So, I've started to collect the parts for my 1655 "Freccione", so far I have: Gen Service Dial, Gen Service Hands, Gen MK IV bezel, Gen 1575 GMT movement. Gen old style NOS Tropic 116 Still on the shopping list: Phong's 1655 Mid case + case back Gen 6mm winding crown + tube Gen Bracelet, either 78360, 62510H, 93510 (I'm still deciding although I'm leaning toward the "D link" jubilee) I need to know which 6mm winding crown should I buy. I know that the1655 uses a men's Datejust 6mm crown as opposed to the 1675 5.3mm crown. Has anyone got the correct Rolex part number for the crown + tube? thank you Max
  15. Just bought a nice 6238 Lemania handwind powered. I can't really enjoy my new watch because of those unwatchable fat subdials hands. Any advise on where I can find a proper gen like thin handset ? Thanks in advance.
  16. Good morning, looking for a little help. A friend asked about changing his dome plexi on his 6263 to a flat top. I am not well schooled but it is my understanding the t21 is domed and the t22 is the flat top. Also my understanding that the inner diameter is the same on both plexi's, but the outer diameter is not. When we did my 1016 build, I wanted a domed t21 and we used a different bezel than the bezel that worked with the t22. I assume this would be the same case for the Daytona. If he wants to go with a t22 would he need a different bezel also? Anyone help me with this?
  17. I'm looking to add a sub to my collection. I want a classic silver / black, with a date on it and a good rep date mag if such a thing exists? Noob to Rolex apart from the Deepsea i bought about 4 years ago from Josh. Are there any WM9 models i should be on the lookout for? Or should I just order the Noob V3...? Help!
  18. Hey guys, Looks like someone has taken my pictures of a previous franken sold and is trying to scam on ebay. If anyone has an ebay account, it would be most appreciated if you could report the listing! -Whoop http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-Submariner-Red-1680/181913187964?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D33430%26meid%3D4dcf6be9746a472a97ccd5dc8d261e89%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dfs%26sd%3D141812007745
  19. SPECTRE premieres in the UK tomorrow October 26th and November 6th here in the USA, I thought it might be fun to post up which watch you wore to the premiere Omega? Rolex? or other? A sort of "Which watch.." with a twist (shaken, not stirred).
  20. Dear All, I haven't posted in awhile, but here I am. :-) Hope you're all doing fine, I've been checking forums regularly of course, as always. I would really like to hear your honest opinions my PPP-Mod and my Pearl Replacement. I have got these done, haven't done them myself; therefore I would like a review. ] I've paid €80,- for the re-PPP and the Pearl replacement (incl. donor-pearl); therefore I'm seeking for a review. So, my Rolex has undergone a Pearl replacement due to the old one falling off (And it was untraceable, so this a new "donor-pearl") and it has gotten a PPP-Mod after the previous PPP-Mod I got done came off. I have taken pictures on a white (Rolex) booklet so you can see the difference between the "platinum" and the "white". In my opinion the marker behind the pearl hasn't been done correctly, neither has the "10" mark been done correctly. In my eyes they seem underfilled with Platinum paint. On to the pictures, these are pictures after I received the watch coming back from service. Please decide for yourself and comment. :-) If anybody wants any other picture(s), please let me know and I will add them. :-) Thanks for helping me out.
  21. Today some pictures of my new Rolex Submariner Blaken I bought from a fantastic member (Thank you again!). It's a unusual Submariner "by Blaken", a beautiful blend of a no date Submariner with an Explorer dial with a grey DLC finish.
  22. many know i Got a superfranken GV but now it seems i dont need it Anymore just Wanted to show a Quick photo
