  1. Hey there, I'm another noob - but trying not to be lazy. I have searched quite a bit and have come down to...

Do you want to know the real thruth?

It's the old members that are lazy. They flame some noobs in order to have other noobs make the searches they (the old ones) are interested into. :p

    Cheers

    a lazy one

  2. I have once been able to remove the damn thing by using a tool that I found in a cheap chinese screwdivers set. That tool is sort of a screwdriver but it has just an iron cone head in place of the usual screwdriver head (so it actually is nothing more than a small conical chisel).

I held the case in a vice, placed the cone tip into the inside hole of the crown tube so that the tool would touch the tube, not the case, and I gave a single, sharp hammer stroke on the tool.

    Quite strangely it worked.

(With apologies for my English that is even less adequate than usual when trying to describe this sort of things)

  3. Great choice, congrats!

The 050 has been my 1st serious rep and it stays as one of my favourites (even if it is now worn by my wife).

I honestly consider it the best out-of-the-box PAM rep.

But the fellows are right, soon I went to 44mm and recently to 47. And my wrist is 6.7'' :)

  4. ATM is atmosphere, as in atmospheric pressure. Scientifically I think it’s a lot more complicated than this, but for the sake of diving, I believe 1 ATM = 10 meters, meaning a watch that is rated to 10 ATM could theoretically withstand the pressure at 300 ft below the surface….or, maybe, if 1 ATM is sea level, then 10 ATM is actually 270 feet…I guess…who knows...

In swimming and diving, pressure is given not only by the depth, but also by the movements of the swimmer / diver and other issues. In addition, the 1 ATM pressure of air at the sea level must be taken in account.

In the end, a 10 ATM watch is good for swimming, but not for diving.
