  1. I think Hike is senior and experienced enough to resolve this by himself without any of our intervention.

    Between him and the "newbie buyer", they would have enough brains and goodwill to get this resolved.

    Else, its between them and the mods.

    We can always provide our 2 cents but fact is: none of anything we say would change things.

    Let's leave this alone, this is afterall not a case of two noobs wanting to bash each other's brains out with a rock over a scratched watch :D

  2. Hi everyone,

    I'm new on the forum and I'm looking for quality replicas of:

    IWC Portuguese 5001(14) and

    Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chrono ( 232.32.46.51.01.005)

    I'm expecting Swiss ETA movement .

    Could you help me? Do you know any TD where I can buy it?

    Regards

    T

    Welcome to RWG and your intention is hardly surprising, like going to a butcher and wanting to buy a pound of hamburger.

    Its difficult not to find a guy who is not looking for quality reps here. ;)

    As to where you can find what you want, take your mouse, click and hold on the left button on the scroll bar, and scroll down.

    The trusted dealers section is where your interests lie. While enroute there, take some time to check out the reviews others might have posted for both the watches you want and the dealer that catches your fancy sir.

  3. beaten to death topic.

    I agree with Ubiquitous, Reps to me ARE more interesting, with the options open to mod and do stuff to them that you would never dream of doing to a gen.

    Before you judge me to be another cheapo rep collector, a very brief background

    My gens: I own 6 AP ROOs, an IWC, 2 Hublots and 1 rolex, and a nice Rotary watch from one of my buddies here

    My Reps: Currently 4 Hublots, 2 ROOs, 2 rolex, 2 Franck Mullers, 3x Cartiers

    I own reps because I find some of the models close enough to gen, and its a matter of economy for me. Some reps I bought to try on for fun. I wear reps for travel as well, and there are very interesting looking reps which the gen are no longer available. I also love the process of modding a rep to be a better watch, something I cannot see myself doing with a gen. So you see, the reasons are many.

    I like each watch I own, gen or rep. The watches do not judge themselves, its only we and our fellows that judge them. I have said it many times: You wear ANY watch for yourself, because you like it. As for what your neighbor thinks of your watch, it should not be a concern, nor should it really be his business.

    If I see a Hublot on a wrist of a man in a mall, I would not bother spending more than 2 sec wondering if it was a gen. That is his business. But if that man is dressed in a torn T shirt, shorts that needed patching 2 years back and flip-flops with no soles, yeah, I would be thinking that the watch is either a stolen one or a rep.

    If you want to wear a nice watch, gen or rep, just make sure you look like a man with a nice watch, and not a mismatched work of art. If you would not think of wearing pink shorts and wellingtons with a tuxedo, apply the same sense when wearing a nice watch, and 99% of the time, you would do alright.

  4. Legend, it's a reference to the finest speech ever given, from Henry V by Shakespeare.

    "This story shall the good man teach his son;

    And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,

    From this day to the ending of the world,

    But we in it shall be remembered-

    We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;

    For he to-day that sheds his blood with me

    Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,

    This day shall gentle his condition;

    And gentlemen in England now-a-bed

    Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,

    And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks

    That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day."

    fine, FINE... I was being crude and ignorant.

    I shall not hold my manhood cheap anymore ;)

    Thanks for doing your homework, but Ive got a side question, do u know where I can get the best sub? :p

    I heard the ones fixed by MD2020 are in the list. :D

    Legend you gotta get out more! :snog:

     I AM trying Mike. Its people like  you who keep me busy in RWG :D

  5. Ah Mike, no pinning is necessary. From this day forward noobs young and old will look back and shake their heads, holding their manhood cheap, regretting they were not here to experience this hallowed event. It will be whispered in the halls of RWG Yet To Come, and Mods will merely need to mention "The Day of the Noob Master" and all heads will nod with sagacity. Mark my words.

    B, I have no freaking idea what you're saying, other than the "holding their manhood" part.. I did that last night :D
