[censored] it... go for the jackpot.
Just get a Panerai and you'll never be able to wear a sub again.
Problem solved.
btw... I am slowly getting to prefer Asian 21J in place of ETAs...

Damn, that bronchiolitis & co is troubling all over the world!
Best wishes for a prompt recovery and a health and very happy new year.

Wow, great news here!
Congratulations to you, and best wishes to the wife!
On my wrist I had an handcuff, and I still have since then....

Hi Padisah (emperor?),
I'll go to Omegas as soon as I will get done on PAMs, but I happen to be the first one to welcome you here, so I hope you will forgive me for not being able to offer you any memaningful suggestion on your preferred watches. I am positive that many others will be happy to help you soon.
So, in the meanwhile, welcome to the forum, and have a great Christmas tonight!
-
YOU TOO!

All this serves to do is to completely discourage me from any more projects for anyone in future.
... And this is the worst event we can think of.
C'mon, people, Finepics is a definite asset to all us. Really do we want to have him discouraged?
I think it's just a matter of Christmas holidays...

Hobbies?
Uhm... Undecided whether I can call many of them hobbies or sports or intellectual interests or what, but here they are:
Tai Chi Chuan (and previously other, more outside-oriented, martial arts)
Scuba diving
Windsurfing
All non-gambling games, and especially:
Card games: Bridge and Magic the Gathering
Role-playing games (most liked: Paranoia and Call of Chtulhu)
Chess
Music (listening and very badly playing)
Painting (looking and very badly doing)
Books and movies (especially sf)
Artificial life, artificial intelligence, artificial consciousness. Programming (Visual C and Visual Basic). Neural networks and genetic algorithms. 'Chaos science', fractals and so.
Asian women.

Wow, stunning!
Well, even if I am experiencing an envy seize here...
Have a happy Christmas and a great new year!
-
To you too, Tribal!
-
Hope it's not just a Mod thing here... Well, who cares?
My best wishes to you, Ken!
(as well as to anyone who posted here and/or is reading this too)

Buon Natale e felice anno nuovo a te e ai tuoi cari, Gran!

Thanks Reg, have a happy Christmas and a great new year you too!
Your pieces are under our Christmas tree right now...

There are some movements that dealers call Lemania, but they're lying.
Good to know.
Something like synthetic sapphire...

Thanks for the great review and pics, Lello.
I too always suspected that the supposed great difference was more of a legend than a fact -- with exception for the lever rubber tube, naturally.
But I never accepted to pay $$$ for a loose lever fix that I could make DIY at no cost, so I have no Jimmy's CG and I can't tell it really.
I have to add that I find the loose lever the worst flaw in our reps, though.
On it, even a child can tell a rep from a gen. Other than those details about date font, back numerals, and so, that we love so much speaking about!
-
Second that!
Perhaps it's because we are not as familiar with square shaped watches?
Perhaps also because of the lacking of the black bezel... and/or because of the crown guard...
(btw, that shape is usually called 'cushion' rather than 'square')

Ok, now you can also begin looking for straps.
-
Well, that should happen in a bed without wearing any clothes or watches...
-
No rep made to date has a Lemania movement. What makes you think this would be the first?
I suppose you mean no rep with date, do you?
-
It would be the best of all RT poll watches.
I did not vote for anyone there, but I would vote for it.

Is Watchmen a member here? How can we purchase that beautiful cyclops? Thanks
Sam, 'Watchmen' was the name of the group that designed and had those cyclopses made, and that I had the honour to participate in (the other members being archibald, Finepics and kruzer00).
Those cyclopses have been made in a run of 100 pieces 'only', and they were sold out a long time ago. Sorry.
-
Wow...it looks like the Watchmen cyclops (accidentally) duplicates the OEM 63's mag 1:1.
'Accidentally'!
We all worked hard night and day to achieve that result!...
@ssurfer: I think the extra cyclops can be removed if my 222 is any indication...minbe popped right out w a TINY bit of paint stripper applied to the back. I can make no guarantees about paint damage though...my smith may have gotten lucky. Thanks for the hint, John.
I'm just scared by the chance to ruin something.
I recently removed the watchmen cyclops from my 028 and replaced it with a prototype of my new cyclopses (one with 12mm FL, not those 10mm FL you are well aware of
), and I have to say that I got a better result this way.
So maybe that 10mm FL, and/or the new Finepic's datewheel, are ok even without removing the small lens. I'll give them a try as soon as they will arrive.

I have no 6497, but there is a screw/pin in the movement that allows for speed trimming.
Did you already check the fabolous The Zigmeister's reviews in his section? Here is a starting point:

Else, you can take the watch to any watchsmith: it is a very simple job.

Are you interested in all models, or just The Best Sub?

Bricktop, where are you?
