  1. Yes agreed, but shouldent the owner(s) of RWG advice the dealers to advertise primarily their quality replicas on RWG?

And how are the dealers gonna get the needed feedback if we can not post in their offers and describe what may be improved?

    Happier Timekeeping

    Gunnar :)

To be honest, I doubt feedback on the quality of the watches (other than quality of if it functions or not) is something which dealers can act upon with the makers to get improved.

Also, with regard your comment about the watch with the faux tourbillon, I rather like the black-dialled DateJust available with the cut out on the dial which shows the balance wheel swirling away :) Sure, it's by no means accurate, but it does look fun  As with everything, it's just a matter of personal taste :drinks:

  2. Teejay - Thanks for the info, that's sweet! :drinks:

Any time, bro :drinks: The ventilation holes really do work to keep the wrist cool as you move you arm, and no water retention to make the strap uncomfortable, and, as you can see on the website, the price is right :)

  3. Tudor Tuesday (well, more like Tudor week!) :thumbsupsmileyanim:

BTW, great looking Tuesday from everybody!!! :drinks:

All you need is one of these Tropic-style straps, and you'll be good to go for the summer :) I love how mine looks and feels, easily the most comfortable rubber strap I've worn, and no uncomfortable water-retention :good::victory:

PS The back is vented in the same way as the originals, not just flat silicone with the weave texture on the front :)

  4. that great news T !! very lucrative profession .. although in your beliefs greed is the #1 block to freedom but I trust that your work will be based on art and the finances will just be part of the whole... good to hear things are progressing in a positive direction !!!

    Congrats .. big time !!!!!!!!!

You're absolutely right there, to be honest, I would be happy to tattoo someone for free, if it meant giving them art which they enjoyed, although sadly, we also need money to live, so indeed, I would have to charge enough to live on :) Even though the petals are quite crude and will probably heal to invisibility, I'm happy with what I achieved, based on my intentions. I did not want to leave permanent ink marks from a 'trial run', so no ink on the needle, nor stencil on the skin, so I had to do it totally freehand, in a manner I'd never done before, so in that regard, I'm very happy with the results, and it's only encouraged me to aim to get more professional equipment, and focus on that as a 'specialist technique' in addition to regular machine tattooing :)

  5. Brazil and Chile in about an hour.. got some catching up to do with the mail.. to Denz and TJ..

    Whad up all U ho-ological brotha's.. :)

All's good, thanks bro, I've decided not only am I going to start tattooing, I'm going to learn how to do it 'bamboo style' like in Thailand. I did some cherry blossom petals on the side of my foot friday with a dry needle just to test the technique, and while the shapes were a bit rough (totally freehanded, no stencil) I was happy with the technique, so have decided to try and specialize in it :)

  6. A grail can be whatever you want it to be, are you defining 'grail' as 'the ultimate watch which best suits your needs', 'the watch with the details and features which ppeal to you the most' or simply 'the watch you like most for xyz reasons but is going to be difficult to acquire'? Personally, I could consider the Tudor Submariners as grail watches, in so much as they meet my needs functionally and aesthetically, and I feel their dial details make them better (in my opinion) than similar watches, like the 5513, 1680, and way better than the 16610, which I feel was actually a backward step in terms of dial visibility. However. If I was to consider a watch 'grail' based on it's extreme difficulty to acquire, then I would have to class my personal grail watch, as the GMTIIcSubDweller bastardizat- er, I mean 'hybrid' ( :whistling: ) I've wanted to build for well over a year now. To me, that's a grail in so much as it's not just the hunt to acquire the parts, but also the intended result, which will be a totally custom, one-of-a-kind unique watch. Best of luck on your quest :victory:

  7. Thanks for your replies ..yes I was told that too as they parts come from different palces but assembled in one place...Just seems like you come find a uniformed too outsource so that all dssd's are equal in stature.. I know the lume is expensive ......but I would rather pay more and have it done right.

I my first DSSD was great it was actually blue...then I sold it ...not knowing that there is a difference from one place than another...I guess I was lucky on my 1st DSSD..I wished now I had not sold it ....

Well I guess my next venture will to be to Zigmeister do the deed...any Idea what the cost is to have this done and how long will I be with my timepeice??

    Thanks guys for your reply.

You being prepared to pay more, and the rep manufacturers being prepared to pay more, are two very different things, my friend :whistling: Sadly, they build with the lowest cost possible, and are marketing to folks who aren't as 'particular' about details as a watch enthusiast, but just want a 'nice-looking watch' :)

I'm not too sure what the Zigmeister charges for a relume, but his work is without question, first rate quality :victory:

  8. If this is the same person who's been scamming people over the UPO and sent the box of bits to Sixx, then you might as well just go to paypal, because someone who can behave like this towards many people is not going to honor their obligations unless forced to do so. Normally paypal disputes against dealers are a nono, but this isn't a dealer, but a private person, and if this impacts their future on paypal, then that is what they deserve for trying to rip people off...

  9. So we've had an A-Team movie, Hawaii 5 - 0 is coming back to TV. My question is: when are we going to see a Magnum P.I. Movie? Mr. Selleck was really good in the movie "The Killers" :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I've heard rumors that they're thinking about doing one, with Matthew McConaughey as Magnum...

  10. I hope so TeeJay. I'm still a beginner in the Franken stakes, but the project is the key thing for me, I enjoy building more than wearing!

I know what you mean there, the other day I dismantled my 7919 just so I could test fit the dial and movement in my 5513 case :whistling: Have to admit, I did like how it looked, but I decided to keep the case for a 5513 project :)
