This too is a work in progress. And believe me, I cannot wait to get it back!! These are some preliminary photos I got back from one of the several members who has contributed to this unbelievable project.
Introducing, my new, Super Franken Tudor 9411
Here's what she's got:
Genuine Dial - relumed by the master himself
Genuine Hands - also relumed
Genuine Tudor 2784 movement
Genuine 702 Twinlock Crown & Tube
Genuine 9315T Folded Link Bracelet
Genuine 380 Endlinks
The rest is rep, but damn good IMO:
Believe me, I cannot wait to get this baby back!!!
Daaaaammn that is looking nice, bro

It could just be that it needs regulating. I've read about movements running very fast due to the hairspring sticking (has the effect of shortening the spring, thus speeding the movement) but that is normally things like 2 minutes fast in an hour, so 2 minutes in 24 hours, I'd suggest regulation first
Best of luck

I consider myself a hobbyist more than anything. I love the pursuit of modding watches, searching for parts, and waiting. Some I keep and some I sell to move on to the next project although this only applies to reps I buy/own. My gens stay in the stable long term. My friends consider me a practical and logical person. If it is not being used, then might as well consider it wasted space? I'm not rich by any means, but it doesn't necessarily mean I couldn't afford to keep them. With that being said, I wonder if those who have to sell their reps to pay utility bills should even be in this game << FYI: That was not intended to offend anyone...I just considered it common sense?
I look at it in the same was as with gambling: Never gamble more than you can afford to lose. I wouldn't, and don't, buy watches if I can't afford to, as bills (sadly) have to come first. As you say, it's common sense, and a case of prioritizing funds. Not always fun, but such is life...

That's a fantastic write up and checklist of mods to perform, thanks for taking the time to put it all together

when the watch does nothing for me anymore, it's time to let it go. When I decide to upgrade to the ultimate version or the ETA version, I let go of the noob version.
I've had one buyer's remorse sale. I've almost sold two of my other watches, but held back due to a fondness of them.
As for raising funds..... NEVER> I say you should always have enough to buy the watch outright without having to sell one. IMHO, that's just an excuse. This isn't a house you're buying, its a cheap watch!!!!
For someone with a low income, even 'a cheap watch' can be an expensive purchase... It just depends where one is on the financial ladder. To Tony Stark, a gen sub would be considered 'a cheap watch', it's all just a matter of perspective
I've not yet sold a watch to purchase a new one, but I did sell off my collection to pay for my wedding and reception, and, if I was absolutely desperate for cash, then I would do so again.

Excellent work

No change from me, of course, but a little low-light fun

The whole thing, ya know? The clasp represents the odd things that happen with this hobby of ours.
That's very true, although to be honest, I'd have to say that that might well be a flaw even I might not accept, and I'm pretty tolerant of such things. The text is correctly oriented on the main part of the clasp, so I don't know, I might accept the safety clasp being like that, I'm not sure... Admittedly, it's not the worst flaw I've seen on a watch, such as the 'steblehox' stamping on some budget Rolex clasps, but it's definitely a stupid one which need not have occurred.
At least it's getting resolved

Dealer said he is going to send me one, when they are back in stock.
Excellent
As you say though, frustrating that the situation arose in the first place...
-
Good point teejay, my WISness chiming in on that response.
Well if I must.....
Not something I'd wear myself, but that's nice
-
Can you source a new clasp?

This coming from a guy with a gaytona avatar. BTW, why would a day date be more understated? They are all either gold, white gold or platinum.
As far as drawing attention, I guess you have never been to Florida. Rollies are a dime a dozen. I wear a fully iced out jacob to a club and rarely get a second look, except from certain types of ladies of course.
White gold and platinum look (to the untrained eye) like stainless steel... The casual observer might not know that a particular model is supposed to be white gold or platinum, but wouldn't question a stainless steel watch. Yellow gold, on the other hand, is clearly yellow gold

I was going to say it looks like an awesome blank canvas, until I scrolled down and saw the dial and hands, so now I'll just say it looks like the project is nicely underway

Welcome to the party
Has the movement been serviced since you got the watch? It could be that the movement needs servicing...
-
I can't see the point of having such repetition in a collection... One of each variant of Mil-Sub, sure, but not multiples, that's a bit too OCD for me...
At least there's a Snowflake in there
Whoops, there're three

Looking good
There's nothing as satisfying as looking down, and thinking "I made that..."
Have you any other projects in the pipeline?

That's the watch which inspired me to 'get creative' with reps
This is my favorite for a few reasons.
Experiences while wearing it (at least, while wearing the case...) the fact the model is not a common sight in the rep world, and of course, that the dial was a gift, are all contributory reasons as to why it's my favorite, but the main reason, is that I assembled the watch myself, with only the case, crown and bezel being original to when the watch was first purchased, and looked thus...

This is one of my favorite recent shots

No change

Sorry to hear you've had such a tough year, I hope the next will be better

TeeJay, I was torn between this and the white dial and really thought I remembered ordering the white dial but looking back I didn't. I'm glad I got the black one, too.
When I tried on the gen, it just didn't impress me at all, but, thinking back, I'm wondering how much of that might have been me thinking "I could get this for 100% less online..."
I guess, at the end of the day, I'd rather have the function of a second timezone of a GMT watch, rather than just an AM/PM indicator, which really isn't of much use to me at the moment. That, and, although I'm trying to re-build my collection, I want to try and keep it only to watches which I will wear for particular occasions, rather than just buying everything I like the look of, which I was a bit guilty of in the past (the 1655 was a moment of weakness
)

Wow. That would definitely be interesting reading
I saw a similar book about a year ago, which covered several prestige marques, rather than focussing on the one, but the photography was outstanding, and if I recall, I believe that was English and Italian language as well. A fine collection indeed

Looking good
I tried on a white dial at an AD and wasn't over impressed with it, but it always photographs as an awesome watch. I'm now wishing I'd been able to try the black dial and seen how that looked... I'd now choose the Exp II over the 1655, as the dial is so much cleaner

Sort of...Here's a teaser:
